So there you have it, folks. Any conspiracy theory can be answered in one of two ways: either by Occam's razor and the argument from experience -- when have you ever seen an extraterrestrial, or a lifelike android? then the assertion that Obama is a robotic ET is just plain silly -- or by asking the sceptic how he ever gets across the street. After all, it's not impossible, deductively speaking, that a Mack truck suddenly appears out of nowhere the instant I look the other way.

You just gave an excellent explanation for why the proper response to a birther or similar pinhead is not to refute their reasoning, but to tell them "STFU you stupid bastard" and then make fun of their clothes.

What I am looking forward to is when Carl Swensons case gets denied by SCOTUS (if it ever gets there). We now refer to the Ankeny v Indiana case as " Ankeny. Can you imagine the irony when future lawyers say " According to 'Swenson', Natural Born Citizen means born in the USA regardless of parentage"

Gotta disagree with you on #1 there. He has read the Minor decision. What it says is plain as day, and it's nothing like what he claims it says. That's not rational.

Back to wiki. The first referenced article http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/obamas-inclusion-on-georgia-1262319.html says FIVE Georgians filed, but it names only Swennson/Powell. Then there's Maclaren and Farrar. Was there a fifth?

Roth, Lax and Judy (Taitz) and Welden (Irion)

They all ended up with Malihi ... but only Farrar is Georgian (per my previous questions)
Swennson/Powell and Welden are all Georgian.

ps Minor mystery solved : Lax,Cody and Maclaren came in on The Obly's Dec 9
First Amended Complaint
http://www.scribd.com/doc/75260254/Georgia-Primary-Ballot-Challenge-First-Amended-Complaint-Farrar-et-al-v-Obama-et-al

Roth came in on the same order that Obly was admitted pro hac.

Georgia Election Challenge

There's talk by a "zeb" filing a complaint (to the wrong place?) Is zeb == Blanchard?

Millard "Zeb" Blanchard filed a complaint with the SoS, but when informed that he would need to pursue it before an ALJ he bowed out.

Yes. Plus Farrar (Taitz). And Weldon (Irion). And Swensson and Powell (Hatfield) make five.

Though I can't quite completely shake the suspicion that he may simply be hiding his irrationality behind a cloak of rationalism, and that he may fundamentally be just as irrational as the rest of the birther crowd. Certainly, I get no sense of any interest in the pursuit of objective truth (hence, my reference to his sophistry).

Lets just say that I have a bit more experience with this particular dimwit than you do. At one point he was ragging on and on at TPM about the fact that he was a job creator and he was presently taking trips on his boat in between posting. Oddly when someone said that they had a boat in the same place he had and someone else said he was talking like he and never set foot on a boat in his life, he instantly stopped talking about his boat and deleted the avatar of him with the sea in the background. I think he quit TPM after his constant interpretation of the S&P downgrade that it was all a Democratic plot and the S&P downgrade was because of Democratic policies just had people ridiculing him rather than bothering to argue with him, and them just quoting the S&P press release at him over and over left him with nothing to sneer at. Didn't stop him from posting the most ridiculous interpretations you can think of. He is fun to laugh at though. I'll give you that :_)

Which begs the question, just what the heck is Farrar's theory? I'd be truly interested if someone has managed to lurk a response out of Farrar, as to exactly why he thinks the records are wrong and what his evidence for this is (The latest AJC blog seems to have had the comments disabled, otherwise I'd ask him myself). The cloest thing the Birthers have ever offered up, has been the numerous fake Kenyan BCs and the edited interview with Sarah Obama.

If they are willing to settle for 'creating doubt', it would only further the notion that they truly have the whole thing backwards. The burden of proof is on them to show that the information in HDOH files are incorrect, but nothing Orly - and thus, by extension, Farrar - presented at the hearing gave any hint of this.

If you asked him he would probably say "That's the point we really don't know. We need corroborating proof so we need access to..." Someone brought up the newspaper articles when he pulled that out on AJC and he ignored it and changed the subject.

Also link to thefogbow.com, where people reading can leave the thread and come to a rational site for proper facts. I think people like Farrar should not be engaged in a point-by-point rebuttal, because whenever you reach a point where you have refuted one argument, he recycles an earlier point and continues as if nothing has happened. My suspicion is that this is a way for him to demonstrate (to other birthers) his ability to keep the other side at bay.

It can be rational to make an argument you don't really believe in, to achieve some other goal. Fox News does it all the time - I am pretty sure they are rational (mostly).
