Greenwald: "If one of the relatives of the children just killed in Afghanistan decided to attack the U.S., what would they be called by the U.S. media? Terrorists. Primitive, irrational, religious fanatics beyond human decency."

When do Americans stand up and say we're tired of killing other people's children?

Pardon me for not jumping right up to express my indignation at this latest case where we have killed innocent human beings. The next time that I see that you've started a thread on a difficult topic that sparks a wide range of emotions, I'll try to be sure to get my thoughts composed within a half hour. I'd hate to risk exhausting your supply of self-congratulatory self-righteousness. :sarcasm:

Yes. I'm tired of us killing innocent people, especially children. I'm tired of a lot of things about this war, but I'd have to say that's pretty damn high on the list.

Oh no, the media reported that children were killed?? Someday the media might report that they have killed grown men! :sarcasm:

"Today in whereverstan a drone strike killed some men. Despide trawling through the rubble we havent been able to find any more interesting people, so we cant say "Women and children were killed" in this drone strike. We apologise for this boring story and hope to bring you a more interesting story about women or children getting killed by a bomb tomorrow. Stay tuned!"

When's a good time to be outraged about the abhorrent behaviour of our government?

Personally, I go for outrage on the even numbered days and hope and change on the odd ones. Today's the 9th, so you're shit out of luck. :sarcasm:

For the record, I didn't object to the question. It was the smug-ass "that's what I thought" that came 30 minutes after the question that pissed me off. And you're treading on really thin ice with "abhorrent behaviour", given the complexities in dealing with a thoroughly fucked-up situation.

Lets see, posting this at a time everyone is in bed, then waiting 53 minutes for people to respond before acting outraged at everyones apathy. That's a bit silly, don't you think?

Lok. this shit has ben going on for 10 years. Everyone is suffering from outrage fatigue at this point. Anyone that would go off in massive outrage at this stage is already dead of a stress related heart attack.

The American people are getting fed up with the war on Afghanistan, if the polls are telling the truth. That began before Sgt. Bales' rampage and before these children were killed. I hope the President understands what many other people understand: the mission of this war was accomplished with the ouster of the Taliban within the first few days. There is little more that America can accomplish there and much harm that we can do. It is past time for the President to act upon that understanding.
