I'd buy that with medical evidence and absent contrary evidence. Bryson is 68. I don't know any of his health conditions.

The report points out that he was found unconscious, which could of course have been caused by other factors.

Back in the 1960's, a student who was taking an antihistamine of that era crashed into 7-8 cars parked beside the Student Health Center. One of them was mine. He had no memory that he had done that. The police reported that he was what we would call today "spaced out." Bryson did talk with the men in the Buick the first time that he hit it, so the cases are not identical.

My favorite such story is a hit-and-run that I witnessed on Thompson Street in Ann Arbor. A line of cars was waiting for the light to change when a jogger plowed right into the side of the car in front of me. He then got up and ran on, seemingly unaware of what he had done. A human body could not dent the metal panels of that era very much, but he did make a small dent. I don't think the police ever caught the hit-and-run runner.
