Is anyone else (other than me) completely and utterly fascinated by the new series, it is layers upon layers of story line, folded back upon itself, upside down, completely and utterly intangible. It seems you are running through rabbit holes upon rabbit holes, which result in you being in a place that is a duplicate of a rabbit hole that you should have been in. I am absolutely loving this new series, the first two episodes have tested my brain to the absolute extreme and I can't get enough. The theme of River, Amy and Rory "marking" themselves to keep track of when they have seen the aliens that they immediately forget is absolutely brilliant. I really do not know how the writers and producers are going to top this, but I certainly hope they will. Thunks?

Brit... tonight's episode was fantastic. The first half hour has your head spinning in circles... and as usual, it all comes together in the last 15 minutes. Absolutely brilliant.

River's storyline is breaking my freakin' heart. The realization that this was the last kiss with the man she loves? OUCH. Anybody else think that it's River in the spacesuit? After all, she has admitted she's in prison for killing the best man she ever knew...

Love Rory to bits and I'm very glad they kept him around. Amy is great, but I love the dynamic between Rory and Amy as a couple and how they interact with the Doctor. A nice change from the usual - but thoroughly enjoyable - routine of a single female companion, who falls for the Doctor. (Speaking of... RIP Elizabeth Sladen. The first Companion of my first Doctor. She was brilliant in the Homecoming episode with David Tennant and looked fabulous. I had no idea she was ill. )

I adored David's Doctor and even got to see him in Hamlet and Love's Labours Lost in Stratford a couple of years ago, but Matt has an energy and charm to him that's just lovely to watch.

Is it Saturday yet?

Ok, someone needs to put the word "spoilers" in the title of the thread. I know, I should know better!

I'm going to catch up on the 2 episodes very soon. Although my definition of soon may be next weekend! :(( :(( :((

I've been tossing around theories left and right. River in the spacesuit, almost definitely. Other possibilities: River IS the little girl. River is Amy Pond's daughter. Little girl is (clearly) a Time Lord, though by what manner, no idea. (TARDIS-influenced, perhaps?) The possibilities with Moffat at the helm are ridiculously many. And we're gonna have to wait until the season finale to get any of them, obviously.

I watched the first episode of the new season again last night and I am still fascinated with it. I am pissed that the part 2 is not yet available on demand cause it is so much easier to watch without adverts. I admit I was bummed when David Tenant was no longer the Doctor but I have to admit I am loving me some Matt Smith (strangely enough I was pissed when David Eckleston was no longer the Doctor and was replaced by David Tennant :)) I am obviously fickle!

SPOILERS! Okay new episode when the tardis becomes a real woman. BRILLIANT! "Where is my thief?" Fascinating episode, with the house messing with Amy and Rory's heads while the Doctor is building the new tardis with the matrix. I had to watch it twice before I got it, I mean the first time I watched it I was completely and utterly confused, when I watched it a second time it was like completely clear. (is this the plan? make a show so confussled that you acually have to watch it twice?) I am not sure how the producers are going to be able to keep up with this level of excellence (although I admit that they can throw in a "black spot" filler to keep us occupied)

Stern, Titanic is not a great episode, it is an "Posiden Adventure" lite. You have to go back to the brilliant episodes with Donna Noble, and the thing on her back, and the totally rewriting history portions of the show. I believe that the best portions of the show are the ones with Donna Noble, having to go back in time and walk in front of a car that will cause a traffic jam that will result in Donna taking a left instead of a right. I can't explain it to you other than that.

Many days late and many dollars short here...

LOVED last week's ep. But then, Neil Gaiman can do no wrong in my book. I saw him and Mark Sheppard (Canton Everett Delaware III) and one of the show's directors at WonderCon here in SF last month and they showed a clip from this ep. It was when the first land on Home and they hear the voices, though I could swear in the clip they played, the voices were in some other language, not English. That made the Doctor's revelation that they were the voices of Time Lords even more startling.

Watching Mark and Neil talk about making Who was fantastic. They were both obviously longtime Whovians and having the chance to work on the show turned them into giggling fanboys.

When it was revealed that Neil's ep would be called "The Doctor's Wife" there was a lot of speculation about whether it featured River or possibly went back to his pre-wandering days on Gallifrey. But the TARDIS? Brilliant! What ship's captain isn't in love his his "girl" - sometimes a little *too* in love with her? Amy's line "Did you wish *really* hard?" was hilarious.

If you haven't seen the Confidential for this ep, I recommend downloading it since it features Neil throughout and shows how the impromptu console the Doctor and the TARDIS fashioned was actually designed by a young girl for a contest on Blue Peter.

And following that incredibly lame pirate ep made this one seem even better by comparison, not that it needed the help.

Poor Rory (again). Hey, remember that time when Rory died? No, not that one, the other one... y'know, before the last one. http://rickygeezombi.tumblr.com/post/55 ... -rory-died

Poor old Rory indeed, he's got more lives than a cat! I loved the "what do I call you?" "sexy!" lines.

Like I said to Stern, his experience with the show should not be based on one episode (particularly Titanic which I did not care for much) I think anyone in the States would love the first two episodes of this season if only for the appearance of Tricky Dicky!

No show should be judged on just one ep, and even though the pirate one may be my least favorite of the New Who, it's still better than 99% of what's on TV here in the US.

Thankfully, many PBS stations around the country started airing the show as early as the 70's, so many people like me and my brother practically grew up on it. Like most, Tom Baker was my first Doctor (I've even got a hand-knitted scarf around here somewhere), and I was regular viewer until the Sylvester McCoy days. Russell T. Davies's take on the show was brilliant from the start and I still wish Eccleston had stayed for more than a season, despite my love of David Tennant. Matt Smith has been a very pleasant surprise and both Mark Sheppard and Neil Gaiman had nothing but praise for him, especially how one so young could make you believe he really was 900+ years old.

It's interesting that this season, at the end of each show, the title card reads "BBC America/BBC Wales Production" and the eps have been shortened from one hour to 45 minutes. And, of course, setting the first two eps in the US. Looks like, after six years, someone back at the Beeb finally realized that folks in the US were watching.

Honestly, BBC had fantastic programming, but their marketing SUCKS.

SPOILERS! Okay "The Flesh" and "Almost People" were absolutely brilliant. And the end "you haven't been here for a long time" OMFSM! Never saw that coming. I thought the dynamic of having two doctors was again brilliant. I have one serious complaint though, and I think this may be unique to the BBC America showing of the show. That little bullshit explanation at the beginning of every damn episode "when I was a little girl I had an imaginary friend" I am assuming that it is tacked on to the beginning of the show for the benefit of the US viewers, because lets face it how many people in the UK need to be told that the "Tardis" is bigger on the inside, I mean it is imprinted into our memories.

Now the problem is, which Doctor is the Doctor now? Is it the real one or is it The Flesh? Did they really swap shoes? Does this mean that the Flesh doctor gets killed in the opening of "The Impossible Astronaut"? When was Amy taken? (I am guessing that she was taken by The Silence at the Children's Home and the "Amy" that was rescued was actually the ganger, or she could have been taken during the three months when they were on the run).

For the rest of you Who geeks I would like to recommend this site (which I found thanks to Sarah Proud and Tall at Balloon Juice) it is just chock full of Who geekiness.

Just saw the next episode on BBC Iplayer - the mid season finale - and wait 'til you see the twist in that! How am I going to survive until the series resumes in the Autumn?

Me too. The finale of the show was so brilliant I have played it over and over again, The Doctor pointing at River and saying "that means you are" and her smiling "yes" "and you and I have" "yes" The final moment when River gives Amy the prayer leaf and her seeing the name "River Song" is brilliant, and it really gives credence to the ice skating River looking at Rory for the first time, she knows she is looking at her Father for the first time, it is quite incredible. I really am not sure how they are going to top this come the fall.

The joys of having children.....or in my case, a bright, geeky 9 and a half year old daughter who wants to be Amy Pond when she grows up.

Recently she decided two things:

1) She wants some of the Doctor Who Character Building sets. The lego-compatbile ones. Okay, fair enough, she's inherited my lego gene and we both want sets of our own. Difficulty of course is finding a source to get them here to the US that doesn't charge an arm+leg. Particularly when we're going to have to get two of almost everything.

2) She said last week that the next convention we go to, she wants to be Captain Jack. At first I thought she was talking Captain Jack Sparrow......but then she corrected me and said Captain Jack Harkness. (BTW, she has not seen Torchwood. She may never SEE Torchwood until she's at least a teenager) So now we've got to figure out how to make a long-haired blond girl look like John Barrowman....

*Chuckle*
