This has got to be an improvement. Anybody would be an improvement.

ABC News’s senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper becomes the first major on-air personality announced to make the switch to the newly Jeff Zuckered CNN.

He’ll anchor a new weekday program that’ll debut next year, and will become chief Washington correspondent at the Time Warner cable news network that’s wrapping up 2012 with fewer viewers than either Fox News Channel or MSNBC.

But he must be kidding:

Quote:
“With CNN’s impeccable reporting during the elections and the exciting changes in the works for the network, this is a perfect time to join the CNN team,” Tapper in a statement sent out late Thursday afternoon, adding, “I am excited about the prospect of working with both the new leadership and some old friends and colleagues.”

Tapper is a moron. Without a doubt. His questions of POTUS during the news conference was proof of that. "Where have you been?" POTUS has been for gun control since 2008, were you not listening you moron?

One more reason not to watch CNN any longer. If this is Zucker's idea of improving the on air talent, Zucker will be out of a job by the end of next year.

CNN ceased being a serious news organization for me when they hired Eric Erickson. Nothing they've done since has changed my opinion. #-o

Thanks, listeme. I have studiously avoided CNN for a couple of years now. They tacked too far right for me. Maybe they're now coming back around. The Carvilles are now simply whores for attention, both of them having run out if interesting, insightful things to say several yeas ago.

Totally agree. I did read somewhere that Andrew Cuomo is leaving ABC for CNN (no linky, sorry rikker). Giant game of musical chairs. Now if NBC would rid themselves of the Russert kid (or send him to a local station for 20 years first) and David Gregory, that would be nice.

I subscribe to the Jon Stewart philosophy of media issues: the 24-hour television news format is 100 percent useless.

Serious news shows involving lengthy (but often boring to many) discussions where guests can or are forced to be civil to one another are the only form of telejournalism that contributes to society today: Meet the Press, the PBS Newshour, 60 Minutes, etc. Everything else is just loudmouthed infotainment whose talking heads could care less about journalism ethics, fact-checking, or true analysis.

I can't stand Erikson, either. He did give a nice goodbye to CNN, I thought.

I think Cuomo is still working for New York. And will seek to extend his contract for another 4 years in 2015.

Perhaps you meant ex Governor Zipper?

Not Andrew, Chris Cuomo. Andrew is Gov of NY.

Edit: Sorry Stern, didn't mean to step on your foot.

So Carville and Matalin are leaving CNN.

Erick Erick Erickson is moving from CNN to Fox.

Nobody knows where Soledad O’Brien will be.

Same with Erin Burnett, who is rumored to be moving to CNN morning... but no confirmation.

Is that all clear. :P

Dick Morris out at Fox News

Fox News has decided not to renew its contract with political commentator and pollster Dick Morris, an industry official tells POLITICO's Mike Allen.

Morris, who was on contract with Fox News throughout the 2012 presidential campaign, had not appeared on the network for almost three months after Fox News president Roger Ailes decided to keep him off the network. He is scheduled to appear on CNN on Wednesday.

Morris served as an adviser to President Bill Clinton but later became one of the Clintons' staunchest critics. He was an adamant supporter of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney during the 2012 elections, and frequently predicted that Romney would beat President Obama in a landslide.

Morris, the toe sucking prick, haz a mad at Hill still after all these years, because she didn't want him advising Bill. Some people just can't let go of a grudge.

What's next? Is Faux News going to shift to the left and become the voice of the Socialist Party? Fox has no principles. They are chasing the almighty $ and nothing else. They thought they had the nut job niche market cornered, but that isn't working out for them anymore.

My satellite receiver burned up recently (yes, during the Super Bowl) and I've just reprogrammed the replacement. There are no Faux channels programmed into my list. Not even the so-called entertainment channels.

The real story IMO is not that Fox dumped Morris but that CNN jumps on it right away and he'll appear Wednesday. ](*,)

Robert Gibbs Becomes MSNBC Contributor

Former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has become a contributor for MSNBC.

Rachel Maddow introduced Gibbs as a new member of her network's stable in the final minutes before President Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday night. The news had not been leaked out anywhere, and there was general surprise on Twitter about Gibbs' new role.

"We'll be talking with you again soon, I'm sure," Maddow said when he was done speaking.

Gibbs was White House press secretary from 2009 to early 2011, when he left to become a senior campaign adviser for Obama's re-election.

Scott Brown signs with Fox News

Quote:
Former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) has officially signed on as a contributor to Fox News, the cable channel announced Wednesday.

Brown will make his debut in his new role Wednesday's evening on "Hannity." He will provide political commentary for the network, Fox said.

There were reports earlier this month he was in talks with Fox, which recently cut its ties with one of its most well-known commentators, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

The former senator is considered a rising star in the Republican Party, despite his short tenure in the Senate. He won a 2010 special election to fill the seat of the late-Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) and then was defeated by Democrat Elizabeth Warren when he ran for re-election last year.
