Some (or many) Cubans who fled to the U.S. were members of an oppressive white minority that held brown-skinned people in disdain and had exploited them for generations. You will find that many of them resent being "lumped" with Hispanics. Having a family name that ends in a vowel does not make one Hispanic.

There is a big difference between the folks whose heritage was Spain versus those who were just kids of the "natives" (Indians) - then you have the "imported folks" (blacks etc)

Rubio's parents weren't strictly gusanos. They left before the revolución.

Contrary to earlier reports today...

Quote:
Romney vetting Rubio as possible candidate for vice president

Mitt Romney told reporters Tuesday that his vice presidential search team is vetting Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), one of the Republican Party's biggest young stars, to be his running mate. Earlier in the day, ABC News reported that Romney's search team had not asked Rubio to complete a questionnaire or submit any personal financial documents for consideration as a candidate. "The story was entirely false," Romney said.

Adding Rubio to the ticket will not help Romney with any group that the does not already have in his corner....past supporters of Bautista, Somoza and various other RW dictators and long-time GOPers. The Romney people can do the math. They need someone to get some votes away from Obama in the swing states.

Mitt Romney: Marco Rubio Being 'Thoroughly Vetted' For Vice President

So, I guess this means that if Rubio is not the VP nominee, he was "thoroughly vetted" then "thoroughly rejected?"

Jeez, I don't remember any "vetting" of any VP candidates this early by the GOP last time around.

Maybe they done learned their lesson. #-o

Almost makes you wonder which political party is really sensitive to the "vetting" issue, now don't it? \:D/

So if President Obama has divided loyalties and had allegiance at birth to Britain/Kenya due to one parent not being a US citizen, where do Rubio's loyalties and allegiance lie?

To a Communist country?
