Four decades after Richard Nixon declared that "America’s public enemy No. 1 in the United States is drug abuse," drug use continues unabated, the prison population has increased six fold to over two million inmates (half a million of whom are there for nonviolent drug offenses), SWAT team raids for minor drug offenses have become more common, and in the process, billions of tax dollars have been squandered.

This is the TED talk to which Rachel referred a few days ago. It is not only about drugs. It is about the racial inequalities in our justice system, which do come down to drugs in many instances.

And why is Obama so set on going after these medical marijuana clinics? Why isn't the DoJ hammering the NYPD to tone down the stupidity?

Hypocrite, that all that comes to mind.

It is because one half of the government (the police nazi type) has their head up their ass, and the other half just has a thumb stuck up there.
