Pres GW Bush gives his speech on the USS Abraham Lincoln in front of a banner that says "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED".

Then-Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD):
Quote:
"We've lost more lives since (Bush) declared victory than we lost prior to the time we declared victory. And this latest fabrication is yet another illustration of their (the Republican administration's) unwillingness to except reality."

An administration that was more concerned with self promotion than reality. Anyone remember how he boarded the ship?

Indeed -- Commander Codpiece. All those homophobic RWNJs shivered as a forbidden thrill ran up their legs.

But Common Dreams is mistaken. They lived to except reality. It is accepting it that gave, and still gives, them a hard time.

I remember people refused to believe at the time that the carrier was actually off Detroit and had nothing to do with Iraw at all.

I sometimes wonder how the guy who actually flew the plane that Bush hopped out of for the cameras felt.

I think it was San Diego. Can an aircraft carrier actually get to Detroit? :-k

Probably very relieved that his military career didn't come to an abrupt halt because he failed to hook the cable.
