The tea partiers and other ultra conservative segment of the GOP are not doing themselves a service. I mean the entire GOP race has consisted of anti-moderate sentiment. We can see this through the attempts of GOP constuents to avoid Romney and Huntsmans all they can by supporting and backing the other candidates... I mean for goodness sakes, I just heard that santorum is now heading up in the polls. Putting aside moderates Huntsman and less moderate Romney, every candidate has had their opportunity to the top, and every one of those GOP candidates found their dirty laundery aired out to the public...

it seems though that GOPers are finding themselves having to settle with Romney, but while I believe that Romney would be the most likely candidate to compete and beat Obama, Huntsman would be a stronger opponent, to the point that he may even steal a significant amount of Democrat votes. The reason why I say Romney is the most likely candidate stems from the fact that enough GOPers are willing to back him, in contrast to Huntsman and his 2.5% (real clear politics). If the tea partiers would just get over their BS and vote strategically, for Huntsman, I can assure you right now that Obama would have a battle on his hands.... Don't get me wrong, I recognize that Huntsman is still at core a conservative, anti abortion, free market advocate, etc, but his manner, his attitude, the way i conducts himself, his relations over the years, all points to him being a negotiator and a compromiser. What do you guys think? Dare I ask whether anybody here would vote in Huntsman if he won the nomination?

He was our man in Commie China. You think they got to him and made the big switcheroo. While the pugs are screaming about Obama, the REAL Bejing (Manchurian is old hat) candidate is taking it easy while all his little campaign doo dads are made in his second home....Commie China!

He's weird cause he isn't the off the reservation nutter like the rest of them are.

Personally, I may be wrong etc. But I see Jeb Bush as the Great WHITE hope for the GOP. He's got name recognition, money, connections, and everything but the intelligence and talent. (Sorry, it doesn't seem that intelligence or talent run in the Bush family (except maybe George the first - at least he could fly a torpedo bomber, (TBM) but did get dropped out of the air and had to be rescued.

Jeb is going to come from behind the doors of those smoke filled rooms (gotta support the southern tobacco crop even though the poisons are killing millions of Americans every year). We need a LARGE BRIGHT RED Skull and Crossbones displayed prominently displayed on the front back and top panels.

A lot of Republicans will stay home on election day. There used to be talk of an 'enthusiasm gap' for the Democrats leaving the field for Bush and Cheney. No longer. Many Dems may be disappointed that Obama could not do more, but they also understand how he has been beset by the obstructionists. But it will be up to the Independents again and it is still unclear how they are going to swing.

Huntsman has no chance this time. He's laying groundwork for the next cycle.

Consider this - Kentucky is one of the larger producers of tobacco - who do they elect??? Rand Paul....

SC does the same thing ....Graham....

Smoke, smoke, smoke, that cigarette!

Just follow the linkie

(Ah, smoke it! Hah! Yes! Yes! Yes!)

The other night I had a date
With the cutest little girl in the United States
A high-bred, uptown, fancy little dame

She loved me and it seemed to me
That things were 'bout like they oughta be
So hand in hand we strolled down lover's lane

She was oh so far from a cake of ice
And our smoochin' party was goin' nice
So help me cats I believe I'd be there yet

But I give her a kiss and a little squeeze
And she said, "ah, Marty, excuse me please
I just gotta have me another, cigarette"

And she said, smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette
Puff, puff, puff and if you smoke yourself to death
Tell St. Peter at the Golden Gate
That you hate to make him wait
But you just gotta have another cigarette
