From the ABA Journal

Quote:
According to an order (PDF) by U.S. District Judge Cecilia Altonaga, Celler made “choice statements” in an email to opposing counsel in the prior case and disparaged the opposing lawyer before his clients. Celler was also accused of "deplorable behavior" in the prior case, including: He scheduled depositions at Dunkin' Donuts, attended them in T-shirts and shorts, and then drew penis pictures and played the game Angry Birds during deposition testimony.

This amuses me because I once suggested this as a possible activity of a useless lawyer at a deposition.

Good grief. What a slimy, tangled can of worms.

Fortunately, I don't think the judge's disqualification of the various attorneys can be read as a general bar against playing Angry Birds at depositions. Actually, I wish Angry Birds were available on hand-held devices 20 years ago because, face it, defending depositions can be boring as hell while not defending them can be risky. Maybe I'd have a few more functioning brain cells left.

Prescience points to Loh'. :-bd

And you both just skipped right over the "drew penis pictures" part! Is that a common activity of attorneys during depositions? Was he drawing pictures of his own penis or someone else's? Pencil or pen drawings? Photo realistic, impressionist, cubist? They left out the important stuff!

I couldn't tell. The drawing was too small.
