Per Think Progress, it appears her opponent from the last election, Jesse Kelly, had an event to "Help Remove Gabrielle Giffords" with shooting an M16:

In his final thoughts skip ahead to about 2:30, he defines terrorist, he talks about military recruits getting "mini bibles before the test," and how most Americans haven't read the Constitution and property owners don't own the property.

There's also stuff about mind-control and how he can't trust in God.

Ultimately, I think it's probably unproductive to classify nutballs as right or left, which is not to say we can't condemn the sort of political climate that speaks of death panels or questions whether Democrats are "real Americans."

Based on the links above (thanks, Pat!), Loughner has a smattering of junior college level education and styles himself as an impeccably logical and demonstrably brilliant political philosopher and Constitutional expert.

I usually use the terms "BCE" and "CE," to refer to "[Before] Common Era," but this other usage does appear in some other sources:
