Actually, I think the video just shows that the cops are prejudiced against Darren, because he's not anything like a SovCit according to Walt, so the video was defamatory, and if the cops are making defamatory videos about Darren, the jury oughta know about it because that means they're not "fair and balanced". They were biased against the guy with the AK-47 who said he was going to take over the Monroe County Courthouse and help Walt make a lot of "citizens' arrests" of judges, prosecutors, and other courthouse personnel. You really can't have that sort of thing in a trial.

I think the thing about scaring everybody in Monroe County was because the bank increased security and there were tons of cops and they sorta congratulated themselves for stopping the courthouse takeover, but what they were really doing was pretending that Walt and Darren were dangerous, so that when they got arrested President Obama could claim the credit. It remains unexplained how they were both arrested and President Obama never did claim the credit for it. That one's a puzzler still. But pretending that Walt and Darren were "terrorists" just because Darren said he was going to help take over the courthouse was Double Plus Ungood Not Nice Unfairness of Corrupt Authority, because all they were really doing was innocently planning to attend Walt's arraignment and quietly participate in the court proceedings, he says today.

But bottom line, I doubt anyone but cops have seen the SovCit training video they made about Huff's arrest ...

I think I get the lunatic logic here.

The video was highly prejudicial and defamatory to the defendant, and therefore, seeing it would bias a jury against the defendant.

Therefore, it SHOULD HAVE BEEN SHOWN to the jury.

Umm, yeah. And these nutjobs wonder why they lose everything all the time.

Yeah, I don't think Walt consulted with Darren on this. I sorta doubt Darren would want his jury to see that the feds took this incident so seriously they made a training video about it. Just what defense counsel loves, something to scare the crap out of the jury.

If law enforcement made a video about this incident, I sure hope they included a dramatic reenactment of the search of Darren's vehicle.

A former Georgia militia member was sentenced to four years in prison Tuesday, after being convicted of transporting firearms across state lines with the intent to cause a civil disorder.

He was convicted in October 2011, and sentenced Tuesday.

"This sentence will send a strong message to those who attempt to take the law into their own hands. Under our federal Constitution and statutes Mr. Huff and others like him can talk or write about their anti-government views. They cannot arm themselves and make threats to arrest public officials and take over government buildings. The core of our democratic system is to allow peaceful protest, but prohibit armed threats to those who serve our government. His conviction is a great achievement by local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, along with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jeff Theodore and William Mackie. Their cooperative efforts resulted in this conviction and sentence," said U.S. Attorney Bill Killian.

Or "other things" as the case may be. I wonder if he is going to miss Tranny Season this year. I hear there ought to be a prize for the most outrageous Tranny bagged during the season.

He has to be able to get a Georgia Hunting License. :-

Ouch!

And shouldn't some snitch be taking a bow right now?

Edit: And all because this jerk ran a stop sign at the end of a freeway offramp.

Quote:
A Tennessee State Trooper stopped Huff on Interstate 75 and discovered an AK-47 assault rifle and a .45 caliber handgun. Huff had a license for both firearms. Huff is quoted by the trooper as saying the weapons were needed because "ain't no government official gonna go peacefully."

I have wondered what would have happened had the little town not been flooded with city, county, state, and federal law enforcement officers. I imagine that many of Huff's compadres thought that they could repeat the Battle of Athens/the McMinn County War of 1946. The Battle of Athens. I've wondered if Admiral Fitzgibbons moved to Tennessee with the expectation that he could foment another war. What else drew him to that little town?

IIRC, he moved there to help a young man (perhaps a friend or a friend of a friend) with some sort of problem (maybe a court martial or something like that, hard to remember). I'm sure someone here has the story handy. Maybe it was his ex-girlfriend's brother or something.

I'm sure you appreciate all that exacting and accurate info, but it's the best I can do off the top of my head at this time. :P

According to the National Enquirer (no,not really, just some "gossip"), IIRC Wally became involved with this young woman through the brother, who was in the service but under some kind of disciplinary proceedings. I am not clear whether that romance blossomed, and he moved there, or vice versa. Anyway, the young woman eventually dumped Cordwood and took up with some other guy

Some black guy who was the foreman of the Grand Jury in Madisonville for quite a few years. And the rest is history. :-

Oh. That makes sense. Some video that was prejudicial to Huff and shouldn't be put in evidence wasn't introduced in evidence.

HOW DARE THEY!

Give Fitzfilcher a cigar. He really figured that one out.

Four years is just about the right amount of time to grow a world-class mullet. Oh wait...

p.s. I could be way off base here, but I don't think those rambunctious rascals are too fond of this William Bryan guy. It's a good thing that HQ has assigned a full squad of bodyguards in case one of 'em breaks out of jail.

Does anybody see a real distinction between what Fitzpatrick and Huff were doing and the teachings of Sovereign Citizens? "Citizen's arrests" play a big part in SovCit mythology. The sacred Second Amendment is crucial. Not recognizing the jurisdiction of a law enforcement officer or of a court is standard to SovCits. The fact that neither uses the colon does not change that. You don't have to be a tax avoider to be a SovCit. You simply have to have a badly distorted idea of your relationship to government.

Fitzfilcher recognizes the authority of the courts. But only when the courts (and juries) do his bidding. I don't think he's a classic sovereign citizen. What he has is common with them mostly is the lunacy and the unwillingness to reason.

I believe it will have to be all of his arsenal. I doubt his conviction will allow him to possess firearms legally in the future.
