It's an excellent argument for a safety net and engagement in the process of governing. In other words, policies that Ronald Reagan embraced. It's old so it's new. This is where the Republicans were. I doubt they can find their way back to it. It would re-energize the GOP but it would alienate the Tea Party. So it's not going to happen.

I like the concept but the devil is in the details, which are few.
