It's really fascinating to read the appellant brief arguments in Wong Kim Ark -- not so much for their blatant racism, but for how their (lack of) logic and (lack of) scholarship are mirrored in the works [sic] of Taitz, Apuzzo, Donofrio, Irion, et al.
That they are also mirrored in the arguments of NOM is hardly surprising:
"[ X ] is a holy, noble, special, honored, and exceptional [ state, condition, qualification ]. To extend [ X ] to [ Chinese, mulatto, African, women, gay ] would render such [ state, condition, qualification ] completely debased, undesirable, and meaningless."
Substitute "citizenship," "marriage," "suffrage," you name it, for "X".
It's one of the reasons Taitz's claim of being a champion of "human rights" is not only ridikulous, but actually indecent and offensive.
