Abercrombie ... will do whatever he legally can to "end this controversy."
Well, bless his heart. The road to Hell is paved with good ____________.
Greenie is spot on, the hardcore birfers will make more hay of whatever he does -- or doesn't -- do.
For example, suppose Abercrombie and his AG and his Director of DOH come to the conclusion, against all odds, that the law of Hawai'i says exactly what Chiyome Fukino says it says: They CAN'T release the long-form birth certificate.
Suspicious, that.
But I've been hoping the controversy went mainstream since before Johnny Appleseed had any apple seeds. I can't be inconsistent and start hoping today that it all just goes away.
None of us have ever expected the birthers to stop, and in fact we expect them to ramp things up to the best of their ability next year. Whatever Abercrombie does will have zero impact on what they say, think, or do.
What he can do is marginalize them even more than they're marginalized today. I just can't see this as a bad thing.
I saw on the twitter machine something like "If he's going to release the birth certificate, what was it they released before?"
Actually, the birthers are all keyed up on the twitter machine.
And the general jerks too.
Monday, Bankrupt Financial Planner tweets out (among his couple hundred tweets of the day):

It's just a nonstory in the Newmax.
But 12 people retweeted that tweet by Howard.
He hasn't been on the twitter machine today. Maybe he's sick. Some of his last tweets:

@pdigaudio I agree. Obama's whole life is a case study in what you get with affirmative action, and yeah, I'll own the comment. about 16 hours ago via Seesmic Desktop in reply to pdigaudio

http://twitter.com/GregWHoward/16,208 followers. I'm not one of them. He blocked me long ago. Only GG and I give him any kind of static. (And I haven't really be on twitter much lately.) He turned me in to de twitter police a couple weeks ago. And, they might have done something, except that I hadn't broken any rules.
