The water is finally being pumped out of the basement! ServePro brought over two siphon pumps (we're going to be getting one this weekend just to make sure this doesn't happen again). They are going to be running for awhile, but the water is leaving! Slowly but surely!

And next the air moisture condenser for 3 months 24/7 to make the place livable again?

What is the process that refugees have to go through in settling into the United States?

Mr. Wilmot Collins is a refugee from Liberia who was forced to flee the Liberian civil war. Mr. Collins arrived in the United States in 1994, and he now resides in Helena, Montana with his wife, daughter, and son. He is a Child Protection Specialist, and adjunct instructor at the University of Montana-Helena, and serves as a member of the United States Naval Reserves. He is very civically active in Montana through his service as a board member for United Way of Lewis & Clark County, the Montana Immigrant Justice Alliance, and for Lutheran Immigration & Refugees Service. Mr. Collins has an M.A. in Human Resources Management and is working towards a Ph.D. in Forensic Psychology at Waldon University. Of all of his contributions to his community, he is most proud of his assistance and close involvement with the Soft Landing Organization in Missoula, Montana, and in bringing a resettlement branch of the International Rescue Committee to Montana. To Wilmot, the U.S. means a second chance.

In stunning Trump rebuke, Montana elects Liberian refugee as state’s first black mayor
By Eric Boehlert NOVEMBER 8, 2017

As Trump tries to gin up fear and hate surrounding refugees arriving in the U.S., Helena elects a Liberian refugee as Montana's first black mayor.

It was an election night filled with bad news for Donald Trump, and the losses came in all shapes and sizes. Not only did the Republican Party lose high-profile governor races in bellwether states that the GOP used to win, such as Virginia and New Jersey, but all sorts of smaller defeats piled up from coast to coast.

One of the more poignant came in the deeply red state of Montana, where Wilmot Collins, a black refugee from Liberia, was elected mayor of the state’s capitol of Helena. Collins ran as a progressive, and the local victory represented a stinging rebuke to Trump’s hateful anti-immigrant and anti-refugee message of fear that he’s been desperately trying to fan this year.

Collins, a progressive who unseated a 16-year incumbent, also became the first black mayor in Montana history. Twelve months ago, Trump easily won Lewis and Clark County, the home of Helena, while sweeping the state by 21 points against Hillary Clinton.
