Ya know, I haven't worked up the courage to watch it, but I intend to. I've been avoiding it for a while by watching Black Sails. Ahoy, Matey.

I had Vietnam era music going through my head after watching a piece of it yesterday. Not necessarily one of those shows that leads to good feelings (My Lai and Kent State were part of it).

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can't watch it - I feel better that it's not just me who isn't ready or doesn't want to go there.

I was 14 when the war ended but the debates about whether we should be there, the anger as it dragged on, the anti-war protests & the arguments between/among friends & neighbors, as well as Walter Cronkite's nightly broadcasts about it are still etched, vividly, in my memory & I don't really feel as though I need to wade through all of that. Okay, it's more that I don't want to wade though what we all went through again.

A band from my youth have reunited and I've got great seats for their March 2018 show in Durham. A most excellent set of musicians:

Autobiographical notes on a very famous song that - I learned from the video - was written on my birthday, or one of them. Dan Navarro was the lyricist who co-wrote "We Belong" (made famous by Pat Benatar) with former bandmate Eric Lowen. Lowen passed away from ALS before this video was produced.
