Will & Grace #VoteHoney

Since Will & Grace has come up :P

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzae4DKexko
What about the current climate made it the right time for this reunion?
The idea came from [co-creator] Max Mutchnick, who had this idea of Karen having a wall installed in her house to make [her maid] Rosario practice climbing so that when Trump builds the wall, she can get back over it to get to work again. It’s so funny because, during the last year or so when I’ve been asked in interviews, “What do you think Karen would be doing now?” I’ve always said I think she’d be married to Donald Trump.

Max sent out the email to the four of us. It was great because everybody immediately said that they would do it – I mean everybody: not just the cast but [director] Jim Burrows and all of our department heads, our costume designer, our set designer, everybody, even our line producer and our supervisor – they were all on board. So it came together right away.

Will & Grace was always a very topical show and so this was just like a normal episode. And if the show was still on the air, we would be doing episodes about Orlando or we’d be doing episodes about a lot of things. It was the right time to [come back together] right before the first debate.

How do you think this #VoteHoney hashtag could change the campaign?
I wouldn’t presume to think that we’re going to, like, change voters minds, but I think it’s intended as a celebration of getting everybody back together but also a moment to think about what’s happening in the election and to just vote. I’m hoping that it’s all coming to a tipping point, I guess. Isn’t that sort of what happened with gay marriage? Right before gay marriage was legalized, everybody was just losing their minds and, like, the worst possible things were happening, and it was just all like it couldn’t get any worse and then it suddenly got a lot better. So I’m hoping that’s what’s happening right now.

Alec Baldwin to Play Donald Trump on 'Saturday Night Live'
by Reuters

The Oct. 1 season premiere of "Saturday Night Live" will see Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump going toe-to-toe once again — with a familiar face playing the Republican presidential nominee.

Alec Baldwin will be playing Trump in what will likely be a parody of the nominees' recent presidential debate, as shown in a new promo that NBC released on Wednesday. In it, Baldwin can be seen getting into character, donning some bushy white eyebrows and a suit jacket. At the end of the promo, Baldwin does his best Trump face, pursing his month in a full blonde wig.

‘Will & Grace’ Cast to Reunite Again for Hillary Clinton Fundraiser
Senior Editor Ted Johnson October 21, 2016 | 01:56PM PT

The cast of “Will & Grace” is reuniting for a Los Angeles fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally are the headliners for an Oct. 27 event at the home of Michael Lombardo and Sonny Ward, according to an invite.

Tickets to the event start at $500-per-person, and go up to $5,000 for those who contribute or raise $5,000. The higher-dollar ticket gets access to a host reception and meeting, and a photo with the cast members.

The cast reunited last month to shoot a new episode for their NBC sitcom, in which Will and Grace try to convince Jack (Hayes) to vote for Clinton, while Karen (Mullally) is rooting for Donald Trump.

Messing has been out on the campaign trail for Clinton, and she spoke at the Democratic National Convention. This weekend, another Clinton surrogate, Cher, is scheduled to headline a fundraiser for the campaign in Long Beach. The event is billed as a “conversation,’ with tickets starting at $45 per person.

Long Beach isn't too far from Laguna Niguel, maybe Orly will be at the Cher event :P

OMG Happy 2017! Looks like Will & Grace got picked up for 10 episodes by NBC!!! They saved the sets! Leslie Jordan is going to get his little ass kicked for leaking it
DECEMBER 31, 2016 3:59pm PT by Lesley Goldberg
'Will & Grace' Revival Ordered to Series at NBC, Star Says
NBC declined comment on co-star Leslie Jordan's comments that the reboot has been picked up for 10 episodes.

NBC appears poised to revive Emmy-winning comedy Will & Grace, former co-star Leslie Jordan says. The actor — who won an Emmy for his role as Beverly Leslie — recently said in radio interview with KPBS that the network has revived the comedy series for 10 episodes. NBC declined comment.

"It's back," Jordan said. "[NBC] has ordered 10 [episodes]. It'll be for next season, so they'll go in in July." NBC has been eyeing the Will & Grace limited series revival since October, when the network was riding a wave of nostalgia after stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes stepped back into their former characters in an election-themed video that went viral.
***
Will & Grace ran for eight seasons and scored 16 Emmy wins out of 83 nominations. All four stars took home Emmy gold for the show about a single woman, her gay roommate and their eccentric friends. In its heyday, the stars earned $600,000 per episode to do the series — on top of points on the back-end. The show remains a hit in syndication. (The series does not have a streaming home.)
***
The reunion was Mutchnick's idea. The sets were stored at Emerson College in Boston, where they had been housed for the past 10 years but needed to be moved. He transported the sets to the show's original studio and had them reassembled. James Burrows, who directed every episode of the series, returned to helm the viral video that now has more than 6.6 million views.

‘Will & Grace’: NBC Revival Order Increased To 12 Episodes
by Nellie Andreeva April 5, 2017 6:02pm

EXCLUSIVE: NBC wants more Will & Grace. Originally picked up in January for a 10-episode limited installment, the Emmy-winning comedy is getting its order expanded and will return next season with 12 new episodes.

The Will & Grace revival quickly has emerged as one NBC’s top assets for next season and is featured front and center in the NBCUniversal’s upfront spots unveiled today, which tout the company’s entire portfolio of networks. (you can watch one of the ads below)

The new, ninth season of Will & Grace — reuniting original stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes — stems from the surprise election-themed reunion mini-episode released on Sept. 26. Done without NBC’s involvement, it immediately triggered talk of a series revival.

Shepherding the new episodes, which are expected to pick up the characters’ stories a decade after the 2006 finale, are Will & Grace creators/executive producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan as well as director/executive producer James Burrows.

Yay yay yay!! Already renewed for Season 2 before it even airs!!
The Will & Grace reboot doesn't premiere on NBC until Sept. 28, but the show has already been picked up for a second season. It was announced during NBC's TCA Summer press tour on Thursday that the highly anticipated reboot will be coming back for season two, and that the season one episode count has been increased from 12 to 16. That's a whole lot of Karen Walker!

A reboot of the beloved sitcom, which originally aired from 1998 to 2006, was first announced back in April after a reunion video between the stars went viral. Since then, the original cast members — Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally, and Sean Hayes — have shared behind-the-scenes snaps via social media, and just this week, the male leads made out for the cameras at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the show in NYC.

‘Will & Grace’ Returns To Big Ratings; ‘Grey’s’ Impressive; ‘Orville’ Steady
by Nellie Andreeva September 29, 2017 4:00pm

Will & Grace is back! Supported by a massive promotional push, strong reviews and a bit of nostalgia, the former NBC Must See TV comedy made a seamless return to its old Thursday 9 PM slot as the top entertainment program of the night, drawing a 3.0 adults 18-49 Live+Same Day rating and 10.2 million viewers. It was the comedy hit NBC has been searching for since The Office ended its run. In fact, the Will & Grace return, which might have been helped by the Thursday Night Football weather delay, was NBC’s highest-rated comedy telecast (excluding post-Olympic previews) since the Office series finale in May 2013 (3.0).

And something even more remarkable: Will & Grace‘s Season 9 premiere last night was up from the comedy’s eighth-season opener 12 years ago, on September 29, 2005 (9.81 million). In total viewers, last night’s opener outperformed both the Season 7 and Season 8 averages for Will & Grace, which aired at a time when the total number of original scripted series was less than half of what it is today, DVR was in its infancy and SVOD was nonexistent, with Netflix still exclusively in the DVD-by-mail business. Even in the adults 18-49 demographic, Will & Grace’s return is down a modest 17% from its last season premiere 12 years ago. That is less than the declines many returning series have been posting vs. last year.
NBC

Veteran Will & Grace, which already has been renewed for another season, was like Gulliver among Lilliputians on NBC’s Thursday schedule last night, underscoring the gap between the broad appeal of NBC’s sitcoms from the last decade and the more niche play for the recent crop of single-camera comedies. Still, there was an element of the tide lifting all ships, with the other NBC half-hours getting small boosts. Superstore (1.3, after upward adjustment in the finals, down 13% from last fall’s season premiere) and The Good Place (1.4, up a tenth from last week’s season premiere) set new top Thursday ratings since last October.

Sophomore Great News (1.4 after upward adjustment, 5.2 million viewers), which landed the plum post-Will & Grace slot, did not prove a very suitable companion. Its Season 2 premiere, which featured executive producer Tina Fey making her debut in a recurring role, held on to half of its big lead-in. Still, this qualifies as new series high for the workplace comedy in 18-49 and total viewers, edging the 1.2 and 5.1 million for its April 25 telecast behind The Voice. At 10 PM, Chicago Fire (1.5) was down 20% from last fall’s premiere but in line with its season average, posting NBC’s best rating with non-sports regular programming in the slot in two years.

Powered by the return of Will & Grace, NBC posted its most-watched Premiere Thursday (6.5 million) in nine years.

‘Will & Grace’ Debut Leads Thursday L+3 Gains With Biggest Lifts For NBC Comedy
by Nellie Andreeva • tip
October 3, 2017 7:19pm

Will & Grace, whose return drew a 3.0 adults 18-49 Live+Same Day rating and 10.2 million viewers to rank as NBC’s highest-rated comedy telecast (excluding post-Olympic previews) in 4.5 years, set more high marks for the network with big Live+3 lifts.

After three days of delayed viewing, the Will & Grace premiere rose by +2.6 rating point, +53%, in 18-49 (to 4.60) and +4.6 million viewers overall (to 14.8 million). These were NBC’s biggest L+3 lifts for a primetime comedy in L+3 measurement history.

Will & Grace‘s 1.6 rating and +4.6 million viewer L3 lifts also are the biggest for a comedy series during premiere week. Overall, they’re second biggest overall, only behind NBC drama This Is Us (+1.8) in 18-49 and third behind The Good Doctor (+5.5 million) and This Is Us (+4.8 million) in viewers.

Will & Grace posted the larger L3 lifts on Premiere Thursday by a mile. The next biggest ones were +1.2 in 18-49 for Grey’s Anatomy (2.3 to 3.5) and +3.5 million for NBC’s Chicago Fire (to 10.6 million) in total viewers, followed by +3.1 million for Grey’s (to 11.2 million)

Yay! Renewed for TWO more seasons and upped the episodes!

Before you stress out at the prospect of Will & Grace's rebooted season being its last and drown your sorrows in a bottle of Karen Walker's vodka, listen to this — the hilarious comedy is not only coming back for season two, but also season three! Now you can use that vodka to celebrate.

NBC renewed the fan-favorite for an 18-episode third season, per Variety. Season two is already set to premiere in the Fall, with season one wrapping up this April. In addition to renewing the series for season three, NBC also upped season two's episode order from 13 to 18. The core four stars — Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally — as well as creators and showrunners Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, are all on board for the upcoming seasons.

"As far as I'm concerned, we can't get enough of Will & Grace and 23 more episodes is music to my ears," NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. "We're eternally grateful that Debra, Eric, Sean and Megan feel the same way and wanted to keep this good thing going. I'm overwhelmed by the euphoric response the new show has received from the press and the audience, and my hat is off to the unrivaled writing team of Max Mutchnick and David Kohan, as well as the brilliant directing of Jimmy Burrows, for consistently delivering one of the best shows on television."
