Question for those who live in California: Does law enforcement come down the street with bullhorns to let you know to evacuate, especially after dark? That video I saw last night really got my attention. So many people trying to evacuate with a huge line of fire in the background. Stay safe!!!

Friends who live in the Sunland-Tujunga area of Los Angeles have evacuated due to the Creek Fire. This is the second time this year that they're under mandatory evacuation orders.

And here's the view east from my house. It's about 9 miles away, but we can smell smoke here.

There’s also a fire much farther east of these fires, in San Bernardino where I-210/I-215 meet. Both freeways are closed several exits on either side of the junction.
KABC) -- A wind-driven, 25-acre fire that erupted in the Little Mountain area of San Bernardino triggered evacuations and calls for ambulances after three people were injured Tuesday, according to San Bernardino County fire officials.
http://abc7.com/25-acre-fire-triggers-e ... o/2742743/

This is really awful! I was watching the KABC feed earlier. Their chopper pilot saw the fires in Thousand Oaks before anyone else did and directed units to it. While he was hovering, keeping an eye on the densely-packed neighborhood, we saw a house blocks over burst into flames from wind-borne embers. By the time responders arrived there were, like, 7 homes on fire, some contiguous to the the already-burning, some blocks away. :panic: :cantlook:

This is another 4 day wind. :o

The Thousands Oaks fire, which is just a mountain range over from me, has been extinguished. Per Eftiveo's fuggeftion I was getting the drawbridge houfe ready, but my sister advises she and hubby are going to go to a friend's west of her. Thus, no chance of Fox "News" emanating from the Sterngard Compound.

I went to L.A. Auto Show this morning (very disappointing; no Rolls, Bentley, Ferrari or Lamborghini displays) and when I hit Pacific Coast Highway it was thick with smoke. All the way down to the Santa Monica Freeway where it cleared out. So far no smoke at the Compound.

The Sunland Tujunga Fire has caused my old neighborhood on Johanna to prepare for evacuation.

There are marijuana forests dotted throughout the Tujunga canyons.

So, will you be driving with windows down and breathing in deeply in case of evacuation? Or windows open tonight? As I recall it used to be kind of expensive...

When I still lived in Cali (oh how I miss thee) and we were evacuated the police did go down our street. Of course the dingbat HOA president ran before unlocking our gates at our entrances (they need to be locked open). Embers where landing on us. I literally grabbed my dog, important papers and ran. Then had to figure out how to get my kids. Their schools were evacuated so they ended up at friends houses. It’s scary crap and happens so very fast. And then idiots start fires for fun.

Stay safe everyone.

RV, many counties use an automated alert system in addition to door banging and bullhorns. With most systems, one must opt-in but there are exceptions.

We're about ten miles from the Creek fire as well. The smoke is horrible here; the inside of our house smells like a campfire. So far we're safe but I will not be sleeping well tonight.

I'm in the area which was affected by the Aliso Canyon methane leak last year, so the gas company gave me two air purifiers with HEPA filters as well as a cell to remove odors and VOCs. I've been running them at medium-high speed today, and they did reduce the smoke smell. I had a headache in the afternoon, but it's gone now.

Trump hasn't declared any disaster areas in California from these fires.

I guess he'll show us!

Contact your nearest Republican representative. That would be Orly Taitz.
