I'll bet money that Larry Bailey is getting information and help from Jerome Corsi on this too.
As for the PACQuote:
"Committee ID: C00524280
SPECIAL OPERATIONS SPEAKS PAC - SOS PAC
103 PAMLICO PLACE
CHOCOWINITY, NC 27817
Treasurer Name: DAN BACKER
Committee Designation: U (UNAUTHORIZED)
Committee Type: NON-QUALIFIED NON-PARTY WITH NON-CONTRIBUTION ACCOUNT "
Dan Backer is a conservative attorney who is involved with DB Capitol Strategies (he's their Principal Attorney) and who feels that "corporate spending on elections is a good thing". He's based out of Washington DC, but the PAC is registered in North Carolina.
Top two super PACs rake in $24 million from companies - 25 July 2012Quote:
"Conservative attorney Dan Backer of DB Capitol Strategies is among those who think corporate spending on elections is a good thing.
'More corporate spending' needed
“Corporations have issues too,” Backer said “They are subject to extraordinary regulation and over-taxation. Why shouldn’t they be able to say, ‘Vote against so-and-so'?"
"We need more corporate spending — not less,” he added."
Resources for Reporting on Super PACs - 2 June 2012Quote:
@DBCapStrategies (Dan Backer): Super PAC lawyer who's pushing the limits on what PACs and super PACs can do
Four billionaires among biggest contributors - 26 April 2012Quote:
'Washington, D.C.-based attorney Dan Backer, a proponent of super PACs, suspects that much of the money flowing to these nascent groups will come from “the same folks who’ve always contributed," though he also argues that super PACs will allow more people to get involved and have their voices heard.
Backer said the money “translates into information that empowers voters."
Conservative super PAC's donors are few and rich - 20 April 2012Quote:
"Conservative attorney Dan Backer, who has worked to loosen campaign finance regulations, however, thinks such concerns are overblown.
He says donors’ spending money in politics does not guarantee that their concerns will be addressed.
“Money provides access to opportunities to tell your story, and if your story is good, you’ll get results, and if it’s bad, you won’t,” he told iWatch News. “In a free society, we have a marketplace for ideas. If your ideas are good, they catch on, and money doesn’t have much to do with it.”
So their treasurer is an attorney who's a shill and apologist for the whole SuperPAC thing to begin with.
And if you look at
DB Capitol Strategies client list, a familar name pops out:
The Conservative Action Fund. The same people doing the lying birther ads. The same group with ties to Jerome Corsi.
