He's also shown as the treasurer for the "Sam vs The Machine" SuperPAC (Zimbo here) And he's also identified as having campaign treasurer for the presidential campaign of Pat Buchanan, and later the treasurer for Freedom’s Defense Fund, which launched a series of anti-Obama campaign ads in 2008.

So I found on Business Wire a 20 February 2012 press release identifying Michael Centanni as the "Chairman of Freedom's Defense Fund". He was also identified as such in a 24 February 2012 fundraising letter for Rick Santorum.
They were also behind the 13 December 2011 anti-Obama "Keep the Change" ad. For that matter, much of their efforts seem to be oriented towards…..attack ads.

I was doing research on advertising and discovered that all networks have to set a rate for federal candidates and federal issues and give that rate to whomever asks for a federal political commercial. State laws may vary, but the cable providers I queried used the same rate no matter what. The rate for both companies I asked for specific rates were discounting their standard rate by 15% for all political commercials.
Rates were set based on which channel you wished to advertise on and we had to select a time frame. USA had the highest rate among cable networks and FOX and CNN had the same rate as the Food Channel, History, TBS, The Learning Channel, The Weather Channel and NFL Network's non game programming.

I think this ad may have played on the Military Channel too. I received a report from the home front about a week ago that they saw an unbelievable birther ad. The description of it was very similar to this "piece of garbage" to quote an internationally famous defender of civil rights. I tried to find out who was banrolling the thing but the viewer did not catch it. Hopefully there is not a second group bankrolling similar ads.

And that one dates back to the campaign and claims that then-Sen. Obama had the US flag removed from his 757 campaign plane. (rolls eyes) Basically the company that leased the plane removed their flag logo from the tail during the course of the lease. A flag decal was by the registration numbers.

Not this election. Most already know who they're voting for; some independents may be on the fence, but I think a fair number of indies have decided who they plan to vote for as well.
Repubs want Romney to be vicious and dirty. They want him to be a pitbull. They are pissed that he isn't. But a viscous and filthy campaign could backfire with the indies. They don't like mud slinging. The indies can be swayed, but all of the recent polls show that indies are leaning left this election. The only political backfire would be with the indies.
Regarding birfism:
Birferism won't be relevant to the indies this time. If Romney embraces them as he did with Trump, he will look like a fool. Americans have already decided on birfism; they either believe Obama was born in Hawaii and ins a NBC or they don't. Birfer ads are a waste of money for Repubs. However, of groups of Repubs want to waste their money on birfer ads, they won't have money for ads that could have an actual effect on the election.
The "Obama is a Muslim" innuendo is still very powerful though. As a Mormon, Romney can't embrace that approach, but other Repub groups can on Romney's behalf.
Americans expect this election to be messy. Filth and innuendo won't backfire, except with the indies.
