"The Conservative Majority Fund listed no contact information on the site, and tracked back to the administrator of the web pages, a spokesman for Political Media, which is the contact for the page, said those organizing the effort did not want to be interviewed at this point."
So you have an unknown group of anonymous cowards who somehow managed to scrape up enough to put this ad out on Fox (who more than likely gave them a sweetheart deal).
Funny, I thought the "party of personal responsibility" would have actually owned up to their words and actions.
Anyway, I decided to poke though the site's source code, and found this:
"Christopher Pernice", runs a web and blog marketing and design company called "Studio Psyclone". Their about page states:
Quote:
"Founded in 2003, by Christopher Pernice, the company continues to grow and is recognized for its distinctive visual solutions for marketing and advertising. Our team's creative and technical flexibility have helped provide a number of solutions for a broad range of clients. At least three of the sites are "designed and managed" by Political Media, which was mentioned in the World Nut Daily article. Their "about" page says:
Quote:
"Political Media, Inc. is a Republican New Media consulting firm that couples advanced technological solutions with cutting edge creative design. It looks like "Christopher Pernice" has got a bit of a birther history though. For example, on Facebook, under a post in "American White History Month", we find:
Quote:
"Christopher Pernice
The birth certificate has been altered, not saying he wasn't born here just sayin the document given to us was altered. And the debunking reasons given by the left's so called "expert" are bs. 1. There would be no reason to OCR this document. 2 in all my years of working in the field I have never seen a scanner even with OCR separate graphics on to seberate layers with the type of transparency and silohetting that was done in the cert. I have over 15 years working every day in illustrator and photoshop. I have master and expert ratings from 2 different skills sites in both of those softwares. The adobe cert test is a $150 multiple choice test nothing real world thus is a piece of paper that means nothing but that you can study a book and answer questions and get a 65 or better. And on Twitter:
Quote:

He also just doesn't seem to like President Obama in general:

Now the address on the webpage for this "Conservative Majority Fund" is:
Conservative Majority Fund. 2776 S. Arlington Mill Drive #806 Arlington, VA 22206
Their about page has these charmers:
Quote:
"Here at home, they are shredding the Constitution … attacking our churches … perverting our schools … and pitting the rich against the poor, the young against old, black against white.
Disdainfully defying the will of the American people, they are imposing a socialist regime on our once-proud healthcare system. A regime that could soon hand the federal government the keys to life and death.
Abroad, Barack Obama and his minions are standing side-by-side with the mad mullahs of Iran as the dark veil of Radical Islam descends over the Middle East, from the once-friendly corridors of Cairo to the shores of Tripoli."
(snip)
Quote:
"That’s why the new Conservative Majority Fund was founded. And it is why we need your help today. Together, we can put an end to the malignant rule of Barack Obama. Together, we can defend democracy. And restore sanity."
Melissa Data for the "Conservative Majority Fund" is here. Treasurer is one Scott B MacKenzie. (FEC info here)
It's also the address for the "Conservative Strikeforce" (Campaign Money Link here, Melissa Data here)
And also the address for Herman Cain's "9-9-9 Fund" (Campaign Money link here, Melissa Data here

There is actually an address on the site but it's just a UPS store in Arlington VS. On my smart phone so can't look it up now.

Scott B MacKenzie is shown as having contributed $10,000 of his own money to "Conservative Strikeforce" (Huffington post here). He's also shown as the treasurer for the "Sam vs The Machine" SuperPAC (Zimbo here) And he's also identified as having campaign treasurer for the presidential campaign of Pat Buchanan, and later the treasurer for Freedom’s Defense Fund, which launched a series of anti-Obama campaign ads in 2008.
He's also is/was the treasurer for the "Black Republican Freedom Fund"
As for "Freedoms Defense Fund" (Open Secrets info here), It's interesting to note who else is involved with it.
It's supposedly ran by Michael Centanni and Todd Zirkle, who also run BMW Direct / Base Connect (link here). And want to guess who was a consultant for the "Freedoms Defense Fund"?
Why Jerome Corsi, of course. Matter of fact, RightWingWatch called it "his Freedom’s Defense Fund", and reported on 6 April 2012 an "Emergency Email" from Corsi:
Quote:
"Although Corsi told me that it’s “imperative that the media not know what Freedom’s Defense Fund has planned,” I’m going to let you in on the secret. Corsi says he’s going to “saturate the television with attacks aimed directly at Obama.” Corsi’s letter accuses Obama of “race-baiting” and “class warfare,” which isn’t surprising given that the president is, in Corsi’s words, “nothing more than a Socialist agitator in the mold of Sol Alinsky.” According to the Center for Responsive Politics’ Open Secrets website, Freedom’s Defense Fund raised and spent nearly $3 million in the 2010 election cycle. So I found on Business Wire a 20 February 2012 press release identifying Michael Centanni as the "Chairman of Freedom's Defense Fund". He was also identified as such in a 24 February 2012 fundraising letter for Rick Santorum.
They were also behind the 13 December 2011 anti-Obama "Keep the Change" ad. For that matter, much of their efforts seem to be oriented towards…..attack ads.
"Covert Informant" at Doc. Conspiracy's "Obama Conspiracy Theories" checked LinkedIn, and finds that Political Meda's President is one Larry Ward I checked, and Christopher Pernice is listed as the "Creative Director"

I was doing research on advertising and discovered that all networks have to set a rate for federal candidates and federal issues and give that rate to whomever asks for a federal political commercial. State laws may vary, but the cable providers I queried used the same rate no matter what. The rate for both companies I asked for specific rates were discounting their standard rate by 15% for all political commercials.
Rates were set based on which channel you wished to advertise on and we had to select a time frame. USA had the highest rate among cable networks and FOX and CNN had the same rate as the Food Channel, History, TBS, The Learning Channel, The Weather Channel and NFL Network's non game programming.

I think this ad may have played on the Military Channel too. I received a report from the home front about a week ago that they saw an unbelievable birther ad. The description of it was very similar to this "piece of garbage" to quote an internationally famous defender of civil rights. I tried to find out who was banrolling the thing but the viewer did not catch it. Hopefully there is not a second group bankrolling similar ads.

I think we can count on there being plenty of dirty money out there to bankroll filthy birfer dirt.

A question for the political strategists and psychologists among us: would a strident, omnipresent campaign of filth and innuendo directed against the President backfire in a spectacular way?

I think we are about to find out. If I lived in a swing state, I would turn off my TV until after the election.

A barrage of filth generally depresses turnout for both sides. However, a barrage of filth is generally the favored tactic of a candidate running from behind. That would be Romney.
How much did Hitler's "Big Lie" campaign backfire on him? Not at all.
I routinely see things that RWNJs spam to everyone. The last one I saw was some moronic claim that Obama had removed the flag from Air Force One and replaced it with his campaign logo. This is, of course, an absolutely moronic lie, supported by a blatantly shopped image. Morons believe this even though footage of Air Force One landing are practically daily.
RWNJs do not care in the least about the truth. They will believe any crazy lies some domestic terrorist invents to tell them. Spewing hatred of Obama is Mitt's only hope, because his followers are morons or criminals who will profit from his election.

And that one dates back to the campaign and claims that then-Sen. Obama had the US flag removed from his 757 campaign plane. (rolls eyes) Basically the company that leased the plane removed their flag logo from the tail during the course of the lease. A flag decal was by the registration numbers.
Curiously enough, Sen.McCain's campaign plane didn't have a flag on it....

Not this election. Most already know who they're voting for; some independents may be on the fence, but I think a fair number of indies have decided who they plan to vote for as well.
Repubs want Romney to be vicious and dirty. They want him to be a pitbull. They are pissed that he isn't. But a viscous and filthy campaign could backfire with the indies. They don't like mud slinging. The indies can be swayed, but all of the recent polls show that indies are leaning left this election. The only political backfire would be with the indies.
Regarding birfism:
Birferism won't be relevant to the indies this time. If Romney embraces them as he did with Trump, he will look like a fool. Americans have already decided on birfism; they either believe Obama was born in Hawaii and ins a NBC or they don't. Birfer ads are a waste of money for Repubs. However, of groups of Repubs want to waste their money on birfer ads, they won't have money for ads that could have an actual effect on the election.
The "Obama is a Muslim" innuendo is still very powerful though. As a Mormon, Romney can't embrace that approach, but other Repub groups can on Romney's behalf.
Americans expect this election to be messy. Filth and innuendo won't backfire, except with the indies.

It's still VERY early. You saw what he did to his opponents in the primary...there's still plenty of time. Watch it really get vicious after the conventions.

The "Conservative Majority" video is also no longer available on WND. Is this the ad? It has the claim that Obama has a Massachusetts SSN.

"The Conservative Majority Fund PAC's spot looks like a cheaply produced infomercial, except instead of selling gadgets, it's pushing the notion that Obama is hiding something dark about his past. It includes all of the boilerplate fringe theories: Questions about Bill Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, characters in the president's book, his college records, his social security number, and of course, his birth certificate, all make an appearance.
"No one -- I mean no one -- has seen an actual physical copy of Barack Obama's birth certificate," the narrator says, before directing viewers to call a number to "disqualify Obama before the Democratic National Convention." They'll need 10,000 signatures from every congressional district in the United States to do this.
The Atlantic reports that the ad was aired on Fox News on Tuesday afternoon. Some birthers were apparently not satisfied with the content, saying it improperly identified the state where the president's social security number supposedly originated."
"No need to stop here, though, Birthers. Why not say that President Obama — up until 2004 — was living in the sewers of New York City with a giant lab rat and he had a weird obsession with pizza? Can you imagine the calorie-count-spawned fury that would hit First Lady Michelle Obama?
In any event, the intent of this ad is to push the organization’s arduous task of stripping President Obama of the Democratic presidential nomination.
The narrator declares, “The fact is if we don’t know who Barack Obama is, we shouldn’t even have him as president.”
According to the PAC, all they need is 10,000 signatures to make kick President Obama from the White House. Raise your hand if you actually think that this makes sense? If you raised your hand, slap yourself silly for five minutes and think about what you’ve done."
Their claim is that somehow, they can get Obama off the ballot by getting 10,000 signatures from nutjobs in every Congressional district. This is, of course, bullshit. Frankly, I think they're just trying to put together a sucker list.
I don't know anything more about this disgusting organization of crooks.

ASSUME ANYTHING WRITTEN HERE WILL END UP ON TAITZ'S SITE AND FACEBOOK. AND JEROME CORSI WILL POST SCREENSHOTS TO WND. AND WILL BE FILED BY A BIRTHER AS AN EXHIBIT IN FEDERAL COURT. NOW HAVE FUN!

I'd like to believe this kind of slimeball stuff would provoke a backlash, but I can't say I've seen much evidence of it so far - certainly not enough to move TPTB in the Republican party to speak out strongly against it, for example. ("I take the President at his word", "It's not my job to tell people what to think", etc., are all pretty weak sauce IMHO.)
Remember John Kerry?
This is going to get a lot worse before it gets better, folks. There's a ton of hidden money behind this, snaking its way through the system. What's put out, and who puts it out, will look amateurish and unprofessional enough to provide plausible deniability for the big players, but it will still excite the base and may be convincing to "low information" voters.
