I believe that it is "Under the Bridge" so you have to be a birther engager to see it...

Since Dean hasn't seen fit to to tell his readers how the public officials handled his report of the alleged crimes committed by the President I contacted the Commonwealth's Attorney in Bedford County, VA, to find out how he responded to Mr. Haskins. This was his reply:

Quote:
Mr. Haskins did contact my office to inquire about the possibility of criminal charges into the alleged forged documents concerning the President's birth certificate. It was explained to Mr. Haskins that my office lacked jurisdiction to become involved in his concerns since I am a local county prosecutor. My authority extends only to crimes committed within the City and County of Bedford Virginia.
Mr. Haskins also met in person with me and the Sheriff of Bedford County, Mike Brown. Both of us listened to Mr. Haskin's concerns but informed him of our lack of jurisdiction as local county law enforcement. Mr. Haskin's was advised that if he wished to pursue his concerns he should express them to the appropriate Federal or State level law enforcement agency having proper venue and jurisdiction over the matters he was concerned about.

I wonder if Mr Krantz would have jurisdiction if he became aware of an individual in Bedford County, VA who solicited funds from people by promising a performance/event that never happened, then kept the money and disappeared.

I asked the above question back on July 30, 2011. Is it still too early to notify the Commonwealth Attorney's office about suspected fraud?

Although I know what Haskins means, the first thing that occurred to me was "putting up" jars of peaches and similar home canning processes. My grandmother used to put up such a quantity and variety of things that I think the family could have survived on the contents of her pantry for about a year. If Haskins had been thinking of putting up "the leaders of the movement" in that manner, I'd be willing to donate money. It would require a number of Apuzzo-sized jars and might be expensive.

I really feel like we are letting Dean off easy here.

From what I can tell this is the most blatant example of a birther con job yet. Orly just asks for money. She never promises anything in return. And she has a trail of real, tangible, insane work going from sea to shining sea. Dean promoted a "major event" for months, collected money, took endless vacations to Hawaii and Arizona, cancelled the event, and said "Piss off. The money is mine." From what I can tell, the extent of his work is one weird lawsuit and a novelty check.

Should we be praising Dean as a genius? Calling the constable? This seems like it should be a bigger deal.

Didn't Vattelevision record the Georgia hearing where O'rly made history by jumping into the witness stand and becoming her own best witness? Priceless, that.

Didn't the boogle complain the the audio was almost unlistenable? I actually only listened to it for a minute.

Yes. As with everything the Birfers do, it was a huge failure in every respect. The sound was the worst aspect, but the camera apparently was incapable of zooming in, so the entire proceeding was viewed from afar.

Haskin's knew it was a mess, and offered up lame excuses along the lines of "there was a hole in the paddle, the table was crooked and the light was bad".

The one redeeming thing was that we were treated to an excellent prolonged close up viewing of the back of Loren's and Doc C's heads.

Orly makes up her own rules about someone else's event...

 http://www.orlytaitzesq.com/?p=32266

Birther summit was postponed indefinitely. So far people, who paid the registration fee, got a refusal to refund from Dean Haskins, even though usually the fee is non-refundable, only when the person changes his mind, not when the event is postponed indefinitely.

Orly,
Here is the response I got when I requested my refund from Birther Summit.

Mr. Barnes,
As was explained in our announcement, the event has been postponed. And, as was also detailed in the announcement, The Birther Summit has expended far more resources trying to promote and market the event than has ever been received (the event is “in the red” financially).
Additionally, on the page where you registered, it was clearly denoted, “Note: Registrations are non-refundable.” However, we will retain this communication, and should the necessary funds become available to us, we will certainly attempt to honor your request.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
The Birther Summit Team

Easy to make your event "in the red" when you blow all the money yourself.

I wonder how many Moon Pies and Cheesy Poofs Haskins bought with the money he swindled out of the suckers.

Mr. Barnes,

It is now obvious you are an uninformed Orlybot, and as such, you must either be immoral or ignorant. Since you cannot be considered to be an effective part of our movement, please send me a PayPal email address to which I can personally refund your $39--as I would certainly not want you at the event if we can hold it at a later date.

Once you receive your refund, I expect you to report such to your incompetent, self-idolizing hero. Additionally, since you put yourself into this, I will use your name at MY discretion in further explaining our current situation to the public--including the very foolish posting that bears your name that was posted on the dentist's website.
