Many Birthers will claim fraud and/or move the goalposts. Some Birthers will harp on the two citizen parent theory. Will this dampen the surge of doubts among honest, rational people? If it does not do so, my faith in the American people will be shaken. I don't know how strong and diffuse the racism is, but it may play an enormous role in how this is received. I am not very optimistic.

Reporter "Allen" stating this will not put anything to rest regarding Obama's eligibility to run.

No surprise there.

Trump is about to speak in NH and his first order of business will be a press conference. Reporter states this will most likely be the first question directed to Trump. :lol:

Trump has stated that if he showed it, it would put the issue to rest with him... we'll see.

I never doubted he had it but I think it would have been better tactic to let the repubs tear themselves apart over it for a few more months.

Iam sitting in a medical imaging office in Maryland watching CNN. Consensus among the folks in the room is that this won't shut up the crazies. Damn shame he had to do this.

And no, this will just ramp up the truly crazy. It might convince some sane doubteres, but the true birthers will see a huge conspiracy... White House, Hawaii, MSM, who knows who else.

There will certainly be those who will discount it, but this should put it to rest for sane people who can still think.

I frankly wish he'd not done so, especially on the coattails of Trump's crap, who will undoubtedly take credit for forcing him to do so.

The White House stated it had become too much of a distraction and was in no way a response to Trump.

Now the question is... Why did he not do so before? The answer is because sane (my word) people knew the COLB was a legal document.

It won't shut up the crazies but it shuts down Trump and Palin and the "why doesn't he just show the thing" crowd. Who can be publicly accused of goalpost moving if they don't shut up.
