More than a few times he's gone off half-cocked on something he read or heard without fully researching it. And when he's proven wrong, he doesn't admit it, as he alleges in this recording, he simply drops the subject as though he never brought it up in the first place.

And if you ever hear him refer to the "nobody who wrote a book about me that nobody reads," that'd be me. \:D/

You're in luck there, DuMay. :-bd I'm sure that sometime in the near future, Orly would be more than happy for you to come to Mississippi and take credit, not only for your great ideas, but for what she's done and said in that case. Just wait a bit, and give her a ringy-dingy, know what I mean? ;;)

I am really not so sure that Lenorly will appreciate the name recognition in court when Mr and Ms Sua Sponte make their appearance :D

FYI -

Both The Ed Show and Rachel Maddow Show had major pieces on the recent birther laughfests. Ed did one on the AZ SoS, and Ezra Klein did a long segment on AZ, the Obama bio story, and Hannity and others feeding into it all. Check it out if/when they get posted online.

Actually, I've been to that site previously. I can't remember how long ago I first saw it, but it's been around for a few months, IIRC. It's "new" but not brand new.

Indeed, it's on the "other resources" list at the bottom of the page and is owned by one our own (don't remember who at the moment).

That's chinacreekpj's site. It's an aggregator, good supplement to mimi's Spectragator (both linked at the bottom of every page in the forum). Good way to check on the latest posts all over the tiny Republic of Birtherstan.

Latest Limbaugh Litany – Obama Faked Being Born In Kenya, He’s Actually American (AUDIO)

Yeah, you know, so he could take advantage of all those Affirmative Action thingys that are offered to Africans. #-o

Quote:
If you’re not getting confused by the twists and turns of birtherism, you haven’t been paying attention. Last week, Breitbart.com made a huge deal of a pamphlet that was released in 1991, listing Kenya as Barack Obama’s birthplace. It turns out that it was a simple error, but still, for the right, it’s huge news and if the media doesn’t cover it, it’s proof that we are in the pocket of the President. Rush Limbaugh, however, chose to take a different twist on the story. According to him, it wasn’t a simple error at all. Obama pretended that he was born in Kenya (yes, you have that right), so he could take advantage of affirmative action programs that are allegedly offered to people from Africa.

It’s accepted that he was born in Hawaii. So the question is, how did this happen? And that’s what a lot of people are trying to figure out. Why in the world would the blurb say he was born in Kenya when he wasn’t? No, Dawn, it’s not because he was. He wasn’t born in Kenya. There has to be a reason for this. You know what I think it is? The same thing Elizabeth Warren’s trying to do. I think this is why we’re not seeing grade transcripts. I think there’s a whole lot of affirmative action going on here with Obama. I don’t think they want us to see the courses that he took. Not so much what his grades were, but I don’t think they want us to see the courses the guy took. They don’t want us to see what he wrote. They don’t want us to see what courses he took. It’s not so much the grades, but this business of saying and telling his literary agent — ’cause this was up for years, it was not just up for a short period of time. It’s just an effort to make himself sound more exotic. And what it really indicates is that the guy will lie. He will exaggerate.

Yeah, unlike El Rushbo.

Huckabee rolls out a similar meme... http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201205180020

Quote:
So why are they going from implying that the President wasn’t born in the United States to implying that he’s the one that started the whole conspiracy? Because it doesn’t matter. The issue has never been about the President’s eligibility to serve, that has never been truly in question; it’s about painting him as “exotic” (a commonly used word) and as an “other.” As long as a large enough percentage of the population thinks of Obama as someone who simply doesn’t belong, they can create fear among the electorate. If they can scare the voters into believing that the President is an enemy intruder who is occupying the White House, it’ll make the right’s job of stealing from the poor and middle class and giving to the rich that much easier.

He pretended to be born in Kenya. Yeah, that's probably it.

He intentionally, deliberately started the birther movement. Prob'ly had those jokes written years ago.

Had Linda Belcher on speed dial. "Tell 'em I need to be held at Gitmo forEVAR."

This reminds me of the people who think God hid dinosaur bones under the ground to fool us into thinking dinosaurs were real, and hid early humanoid bones in Africa to fool us into believing in evolution.

Sneaky.

Good practical joke, though.

Bingo! Reminds me of a Fundy I knew 30 years ago whos answer to the evolution question mirrored this. Dog put these things on earth to fool the nonbelievers.

When asked about Jesus drinking wine, his retort was something along the lines of "it was really grape juice." Nevermind that grape juice was over a thousand years away from being "invented" at the time of Jesus. They hadn't yet figured out how to keep the juice from spoiling without fermenting it into alcohol.

The "totality of the evidence" overwhelms whether any part of the evidence is accurate, mistaken, or a deliberate lie.

Admitted mistakes in poorly edited documents constitute absolute proof to these people of a foreign birth.

Certified documents from one of the United States (yes, Hawai'i is a state even though it has a lot of people with unusual names) constitutes proof of a conspiracy.

That's a myth too. People 2000+ years ago knew ways to preserve fruit and fruit juice as well as they knew how to ferment fruit juice.

Whether the wine Jesus made was wine like we know or alcoholic or not isn't the point.

Yep. For one thing, they wouldn't have been able to send fruit to the famous feasts in Rome if they didn't have ways to preserve them.

People have a very sneering attitude to people in the ancient world. One of the things that strikes me as I slowly learn more history is how really really smart some people back then were.
