-xx Oh my! Will the birth certificate be lost forever?

Will Lucas be able to sucessfully hide from authorities? After all, I'm sure the government can't find out where he's posting from.

Will birfers come forward to help him? How? Offer him shelter? Hit the Paypal?

Will Lucas team up with Phil Berg to try to milk more from the remaining birfers who haven't been tapped out?

What a cliff-hanger.

Clearly there's a crying need for a "Where's Lucas" video game!

Is there some reason that conservatives in general have never heard of the concept of extra-ordinary rendition? I thought they were big supporters of this sort of thing? Hell it was their president that engaged in it.

They assume that such things only happen to damned furners, who, as likely terrorists, must deserve rendition.

The gubermint wouldn't detain a law abiding citizen on accident, would they??????

Why do so many conservatives state that the government can't do anything right, but when it comes to egregious acts like rendition and imprisoning "possible" war criminals (translation, a brown person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time), the government is always right?

Everybody knows Lucas doesn't travel to Santo Domingo with his precious original-original BC in a suitcase. We all understand he could produce another one any moment. So what is his point ?

Let me guess:

It's another hoax.
He has never been arrested (at least not in relationship to the BC). He realizes perfectly well that his forgery has mortal flaws. He needs to transform the gullible birther audience into the victims of his petty crimes.

What better solution than to lose his certificate in a heroic patriotic arrest performed by Homeland Sacurity and after a week spent in a FEMA camp ?

That's my favorite part of the story. Lucas left the country for some non-Birther-related activity, and he took the one and only original copy of the fabled Kenyan birth certificate with him? So I take it that safety deposit boxes weren't his thing, and maybe he felt like some light reading on the plane?

The only place to which Lucas Smith is likely to "disappear" is to federal prison for his various crimes. Even then you'd be able to look him up on the Bureau of Prisons website by his name or inmate number.

I thought at one point that some Representative had taken it - was the the last thing or what? Maybe someone in the government has taken up Obama Birth Certificate Collecting as a new hobby?

The supposed BC that Ed Hale 'had' was a bluff intended to fool us Obots into believing that he actually had something on the president. Of course, none of us believe him.

This antic backfired on Ed because all of his supporters DID believe that he actually had Obama's real BC and that Obama was on his way out. When Ed finally posted the BC, it was just a drawing in crayons that looked like it was drawn by a 4 year old with April Fools printed on it. All of his supporters were extremely angry with him for getting their hopes up.

Ed's not quite smart or savvy enough to understand that the reason we never believed him is that we know that the President was born in the United States and he is a natural born citizen. Secure in that knowledge, there's no reason to believe Ed. He doesn't get that because he's so sure Obama's not NBC that he's equally sure there's something out there that will prove it. Keep digging, Ed. You'll eventually dig all the way through to the other side of the planet and you'll still be empty-handed.

No, Ed's claim to have Pres. Obama's Kenyan BC was intended to separate his supporters from their money, an attempt to transfer it from their bank accounts into his bank account.

Just an update from Lucas about what's happening on his youtube account.

Hello everyone. I've just got a chance to log into the InspectorSmith forum after more than two days now and I see that my inbox has many messages, and many of the messages being from long time supporters and steadfast patriots. (ie morons and losers)

It's now in the early AM hours and I am beat tired from traveling. I will reply to everyone's messages, each and every one. I don't want anyone to think that I have stopped responding to messages.

I also want everyone to know that the? fight is not over. I may change a few techniques in this battle but I am not resigning. (He obviously needs to find a new way of getting money out of birthers)

Lastly tonight, I am working on retrieving the Kenyan birth certificate now. (Oh look there it is in the desk drawer where I left it.)

Yes, I think you've hit on a very important part of the birther mentality.

The rest of us look at the various birther claims and wonder how anyone can say anything like, "The BC is fake ... but if it's real he lost his citizenship in Indonesia ... or if he didn't he fails the two-citizen-parent test ... or something...." Logically that makes no sense -- there's no valid premise that would imply that one of those theories must be true.

But it's similar to something we all do. When we watch a magician perform, and we see a woman sawed in half, we say "It's a trick saw, it didn't really go through her ... or, if not, there's a second woman in the box showing her legs ... or, if not, the woman slipped into a safe place before the saw passed through ... or something..."

Those various theories are also not tied to each other either -- except through a common truthful premise: We know for a fact that the woman was not really cut in two, so there must be another explanation, and with enough time and effort we can uncover it.

The only way the various birther theories are connected is through the ab initio assumption that Obama is ineligible for the presidency. Unfortunately, the premise itself is what they're trying to prove, so they just end up wallowing in a circular pile of poop.

Edit: [Tidied up language a bit]

I knew that, I just remember he'd claimed at one point that some Representative from Congress had some to his home or something to get it and present it to Congress or somesuch nonsense, and I was wondering what that nonsense was :D

Skeppy - I almost agree with you. Where we part company is in the belief. In my opinion most birfers know they are peddling bullshit. Some simply want to disqualify President Obama politically. Others are hoping magically that the flying saucers will land and frog march the President away. I suspect that very very few birfers really believe the bullshit. They all know that the birf certificates created by Lucas Smith are fake. But they are hoping someone less credulous than them will start to believe, and that such beliefs will shape reality. (Remember -- most of these people are "faith-based.")

While some birfers are venal, and some a really stoopid, most are mentally ill.
