A bird doing an amphibian march? Oh, the inhumanity!

A confusing thing to me about California's new primary system: does this mean that anyone can declare themselves to be Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, or Green and have that party affiliation show up on the ballot? Are the political parties entirely without say on such matters?

Essentially, yes. If you wonder why that's legal, compare Wash. State Grange v. Wash. State Republican Party, 552 U.S. 442 (2008) to Cal. Democratic Party v. Jones, 530 U.S. 567 (2000). Then tell me the distinction between them makes a lick of sense.

I've discussed these cases in a different context here, but I wouldn't recommend relying on my muddled gibberish. For a genuine misunderstanding of the issue, I recommend reading the muddled gibberish of the Supreme Court itself.

Very few people will be aware of the new open primary system. The only thing we can count on is confusion and unintended consequences. I for one prefer run-offs and abhor elections where someone can be elected with small percentages of electorate voting for them. Run-offs give time to focus on two candidates and their differences and a better chance they will be vetted by the voters and the opposition.

I just heard a discussion on NPR of the muddled thinking in Citizens United, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow for another SCOTUS muddling.

Mebbe it's the one with the picture Orly stole from CNN. I wonder how CNN feels about not getting credit for their work. She can put Orly's ad in and then her own campaign letter describing the freak show and whether Californians would have her or some really bizarre foreign freak show.

You know, I wonder if that's the right venue, or if she was confused. Didn't she tell everyone San Jose, and wasn't that the Ron Paul group that was meeting there? I think the ones where she telling them "I'm coming with my supporter and you had better let me speak" was in San Jose.

Both are in Burlingame today so both can be attended.

The Liberty Caucus is having their convention big main event today and the events are just a short distance from the CA GOP larger convention. Here's their line-up for today.

The 2:00 rally where candidates are given 10 minutes to speak was scheduled for the Hyatt/Burlingame.

Of course Orly Taitz's bid for Senator is completely invalid, cause she is not a citizen. Prove me wrong Orly.

I don't think Obly will be getting the coveted McCain endorsement anytime soon.

I just gave an interview to Channel 4 Bay area. Pictures with Newt Gingrich, Tim Powlenty and GOP national chairman Rense Preibus will be posted later today
 XXX-http://www.orlytaitzesq.com/?p=32166

Quote:
I was interviewed by Channel 4 Bay Area and was asked, whether a more conservative platform of the California GOP will cause the candidates to lose independant voters.

... nary a mention of SSN's etc etc ...

My provision of a tariff or duty on the corporations importing products from the third world countries will help overcome the disparity in cost, which is caused by the added expense of stringent EPA regulations. It will help CA and US companies as a whole to stay more competitive

This was the jest of my answer

"If this race plays out as a bunch of unknowns who have no serious funding, Orly Taitz will probably win the primary," said Feinstein adviser Bill Carrick, referring to the so-called "birther" activist who said last year she might enter the race.
