Dim-bulb weirdo Orly Taitz has done it! She (barely?) managed to fill in most of the spaces on one of those U.S. Senator job application forms with a few hard-won manual scribbles and then decided to add “Dr.” before her name in the top left margin space, to make it seem serious. Comedy thanks you, Orly!

As everyone probably no longer recalls, this is not her first brush with utter campaign-related failure (now a separate category from her other divisions of total human failure) — she ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination for California Secretary of State in 2010. Why will voters take her seriously for this particular whirl of the psycho merry-go-round?

I just started raising money for the run for the US Senate. First thing, that I need to do, is pay $3,420 registration fee, to be on the ballot in the state of CA. I just received $270, have $3,150 more to go to register to run in CA Senate race.

Ballot access laws are only unconstitutional under the U.S. Constitution if they impose a more substantial burden to voters than is justified by the state interest in restricting ballot access. So far, California's election laws have withstood challenge under the fairly lax standard articulated in Burdick v. Takushi, which imposes a balancing test rather than strict scrutiny. The prior lawsuit was brought by a real attorney on behalf of a real party. Here's one such recent case.

I'm not aware of whether a challenge on the basis of the state constitution has been brought or, if it has, how it turned out, but I imagine a challenger would meet with little success.

I finally got the packet from the FEC.

I got it at my house. At my office the locks in the mail boxes were broken 3 times. I had to pay 3 times to the post office $50 for the new locks and keys. They advised me to contact the postmaster. My assistant called the office of the postmaster.
