Of course he will!

Anyone know if he's been given a heads up that he may be hearing from birthers soon? He may want to hire some extra staff to deal with the ginormous flood of calls he should be expecting! \:D/

Looking back at Orly's first post where she floated the idea of running for the office of California Secretary of State, something struck me: Orly thinks that the SOS has the ability to file a suit:

Several of my supporters have recommended that I run for an office of the Secretary of State of Ca or Attorney General. As a secretary of State or attorney general I will have standing to try in court issues that were tabu to all of us as individuals. ...

In all litigation, the Secretary of State, like other officers of the State of California, is represented in courts by the state Attorney General.

Now there's the gold medal observation of the day, IMO. You are so spot-on, BB.

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts (heh...an even bet with the cost of doughnuts these days) that neither Orly nor her sychophants esteemed advisors have thought this through.

BUT SHE WILL HAVE STANDING! She KNOWS this, it only takes on courageous SOS to stop him and she's it.

Come 2012 with her as SOS the usurper will not be allowed on the ballot.

How rich would that be...Orly as SoS, the DNC submits documents to be placed on the Cali ballot, she screams NO!! Then finds out it's not her job to vet candidates (just as the Court ruled in BOTH of the lawsuits she was involved in against Bowen). =))

LET ME FINISH!!!! LET ME FINISH!!!

Or even better...a law is passed that candidates have to provide their BCs, Obama produces the fully-legal COLB and she says NO!!!!

Her decision is challenged and the Courts rule YES!!

=))

Except for the utter nonsense of Orly being SoS, I don't know which scenario I'd enjoy more.

I know it would require logic on her part to think this through, but which makes more sense:

A
- badmouth established candidate
- get him to pull out of race
- raise 10's-100's of thousands of dollars
- make all sorts of deadlines some of which have already passed
- try for a job that you don't know the first thing about, are not qualified for, and don't really want

OR

B
- take all your ironclad proof and evidence to the established candidate, get him on your side, get him to pledge to pursue the eligibility question when he's elected
- muster the minions to support him.

Less fun for us, but isn't (B) at least, in SOME wonderland, an imaginable possibility, whereas (A) is at best the gibbering of a victim of a botched brain surgery?

I wonder if SoS Bowen will require Orly to provide her long-form vault-copy BC to get on the ballot, her records for the dental education, her kindergarten records, immigration records, naturalization papers.

y'know, when my beloved Orly first floated the idea of running for statewide office, she was pondering running for either SOS or AG. The AG idea went away fairly quickly. Could it possibly be because the Attorney General must be an attorney in good standing with the California State Bar and my schweet pookie-ookums got a little notice of investigation from state attorney bar? Mebee signed by Moose and Squirrel with a response date of 2/26/10?

Spencer Kornhaber at OC Weekly posts about Obly's ambitions for office.

Orly Taitz Slings Mud at Republican Opponent for Secretary of State

After lamenting his inability to cover Obly's speech regarding "The Truth About Election Fraud" to the Orange County Federation of Republican Women and pointing out her previous swipe at Dunn as an "affirmative action" candidate only, he writes...

Quote:
In recent days, Taitz has announced that she filed the inital paperwork signaling an intention to run for office, blasted Dunn as a "Republican in name only" (because he doesn't care about "eligibility"), and called on supporters to lobby Dunn to stop running. She'd ask him herself, but...

Quote:
Please, let me know if any of you talked to Damon Dunn, and if he is willing to drop out of the Secretary of State race? I don't have his phone and address. I only know that he lives in Irvine, CA.

That's understandable. After all, the "Contact Damon" button on Dunn's website is hidden up at the top of the page, underneath the campaign logo. And it's written in English.

When we called Dunn spokesperson Hector Barajas, he said he hadn't heard of Taitz. Then he said he remembered reading something about her in the newspaper. "Is she the one challenging whether Barack Obama's a U.S. citizen or not?," Barajas asked.

Spencer has been promised Dunn would be calling directly to talk about his potential challenger and will keep us posted.

I've wondered if maybe she doesn't also think that as Secy of State, she'd be able to either just flat out demand proof from Obama before certifying the 2012 ballot or - worse - that she could just outright change the rules however she wants to make it impossible for him to run again.

Her comprehension of things tends to make me doubt that she has a clue what the SoS actually does or what limits there are to an SoS's abilities. She's already demonstrated that she thinks judges can overlook things like standing because her case is SO important - so why wouldn't she think that in the humongous Constitutional Crisis that we're in, an SoS couldn't just make an emergency ruling changing how things are done?

Oh, but in scenario B, Orly doesn't get to be the grand Lady Liberty carrying the torch of Freedom to the halls of the Government and (metaphorically - I'd hope) burning the corruption away and restoring the Shining City by the Heroic Grace of Her Courage. Or some folderol like that.

Spencer Kornhaber's article has comments, one of which points to a site that reproduces her form intent to run for CA SoS. She did not provide her address. She wrote "Secretary of State" where her address should have been. Then, under "Office Sought" she wrote "State." Debra Bowen may never be able to notify Orly whether or not she is on the ballot.

The form is also on Taitz's site. However, she was unable to post it properly. Rather than posting the form so that it can be read, the form is posted on its side.

Taitz's formidable skills, of course, extend beyond her ability to maintain one of the top websites in human history. The Secretary of State is required to develop forms that ordinary citizens can properly fill out. Taitz's ability to take even complicated forms and fill them out properly is legendary. Simple forms? No problem!
