As y'all know, I maintain four board styles on this forum:

Prosilver, Prosilver Special Edition, subsilver2 and Serenity Purple.

Subsilver2 was the default style for phpBB2; Prosilver is the default for phpBB3. We're at version 3.0.10. I use subsilver2, bein' a cranky ol' codger like I do.

Pays yer money and takes yer choice. To see which style you use, or to check out alternatives and choose another, go to:

User control panel --► Board preferences tab

Prosilver and subsilver2 are automatically updated when I update new versions of the software. Prosilver Special Edition is so heavily based on Prosilver that it's mostly updated. But I learned yesterday that I have to update Serenity Purple myself, which is not going to be easy because I've made so many changes to the overall header and footer over the years.

Only seven people use Serenity Purple, but two of them are Loh and I think Highlands, and they swear by it; so I'll keep updating it as long as y'all are still using it, pain in the ass or not. HOWEVER, this is going to take some time and I might mess it up once or twice before I get it right. It means not only all the custom links at the top and bottom of every page, but also making sure all the "modifications" work, like the advanced BBCodes and statistics and a bunch of others.

I'll have full backups of everything, of course, and can always put Serenity Purple back where it is today, but it would be nice to have it current. I can do this thing; I made Serenity Purple what it is today. But it might take some time before I pronounce it completed. If you use Serenity Purple and things don't look right, switch to another style temporarily until I get it running right.

Just because I never tire of beating myself to death, I'm thinking about offering a fifth style that I like.

All the styles we have are "light" styles. This one's a "dark" style, like the kids use (I do it for the children). It's called Artodia Elegance Black, and here's a demo of what it looks like. I can even change the colors before I implement it.

There's a whole "styles demo database" where you can check out what other styles look like. All styles are "based on" either Prosilver or subsilver2.

NOTE: I'm only going to implement ONE more style, and it will be 1) a dark style 2) based on Prosilver, not subsilver2. If you like one that fits those two parameters more than you like Artodia Elegance Black, tell me why.

At least 10 people must sign up for me to do this; otherwise, it's too much work. As always, I'll read and consider your input, but there will be no consensus (there never is) so after I read your input I'll make a decision which dark style to go with.

I find dark styles difficult to read, so I use the default prosilver (I think).

I'd use the Dark Style I find it restful. I might change the color from green to blue, but maybe not. I really like how easy it is to see new posts. Plus, I'm moving to the dark side soon.

What I'm really saying is, YOU don't have to guess. Hint: if the forum isn't as wide as your entire browser screen, you're using Prosilver SE.

OK, but any day now I'm gonna fix the purple and it might take me hours. Doubt I'll get to it today, but I did download the "standard" updated files for Serenity Purple. Now I gotta massage 'em some.

Oh, Foggy, you do so much work for us to keep up The Fogbow I would hate to put more work on your plate. I'll stick with Prosilver. Well, that and I don't want to have to get used to using another board style

Would be nice if the example had more text in the forum message examples but I kinda like it all told. I think if it comes in the actual forum text would look better full on white than the light grey it looks like now but that's my best guess based on what I think I'm seeing.

Come on, people, lets see those votes. Right now there's more folks in favor of the dark green than there are purple people. But Foogy wants us to outperform them by about 5x.
