Cialis and the like trolls - They link their garbage in the remark field that shows on our member rolls:

I know these are a pain to track down. If I could sort by the remarks field I could do it in a hurry...and no I'm not going after legitimate member links to other than these on-line shit-sellers. Noticed them when I was curiously looking for Steve Feinstein. These are in the S's:

They usually post at night and I disapprove them. They never come back. Foggy,should I make a report each time I do that so you can clean up the troll snot or can I do that?

I ban a lot of them too. I ban them by username, by IP address, and by email. I also disapprove any posts they put up, just like kate520 and realist do.

They all put up posts when they join. ONLY the mods and I ever see those posts. AND, they have to be humans who ignore several warnings before they put up a post. The bot spammers never even manage to register. My anti-spam setup is flawless, but a determined human can get us to take the time to disapprove a post and ban their asses.

So please don't let it bother you too much that they're still on the memberlist. If I delete their accounts completely, there's nothing to prevent them from signing right back up again using the same name, IP, and email address, and forcing me and the mods to deal with them a second or third time. They have to be on the memberlist in order for the bans to be permanent.

None of you ever sees any of the spam posts. I hope that's enough to satisfy most of you.


No, you're doing great. Like you say, as long as they're banned and their posts are disapproved, they're not bothering anyone except people who spend time going through the memberlist. I could delete their signatures, but life's too short.

Yah, yah...some of us who have tendencies to obsess, sometimes due to having or having had our own sites that were long infested with these bastids and having or having had to spend hours monthly deleting thousands of their dumb arses get a little more interested in eradicating these creeps than folks who have never had the pleasure.

But don't mind me...

Back when I first started reading Driftglass, he had a Samurai Spam catcher that was the first thing you'd see on his site. He and his readers made wildly funny comments about the spam messages. he doesn't do it anymore, though.
