Yes, but there's way to fix the link so that the video will start and/or stop at a certain time stamp. I know I've seen the directions around here somewhere.

If you right-click on the youtube slide bar (how you move the video forward/backward), one of the options I see is "Copy video URL at current time".

What it does is add a "#t=nnns" at the end of the link, which is basically saying "start at time nnn seconds."

So, to start at 10 seconds, add "#t=10s". To start at 1:10, add "#t=70s"

Very cool, and thanks, MRich.

But I tried it, and it doesn't work on embedded video. The full extra code I got is actually:

&feature=player_detailpage#t=17s

So in the URL:
Code:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmlkmVoPuQA&feature=player_detailpage#t=17s

The "v=ZmlkmVoPuQA" is the video ID, and the part starting with "&" basically says, "And start at 17 seconds into the video".

But when you post that on the forum, it actually strips off the part starting with "&". Not sure why that happens, but I tried it twice and it won't cooperate with starting 17 seconds in.

I hope they paid royalties or at least asked permission for the very distinctive sample of Nine Inch Nails's Mr. Self Destruct that they used.

It's at the end. I already forgot the syntax to set it to a certain part of the video. But it's, like, at the end. And listen to it and stuff, it's a great track, if you can stand it.

"Peace Train" by Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) performed at the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Concert 2006, in honor of Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank "for their efforts to create economic and social development from below."

Mohammed Yunus violated Bangladeshi law by staying on as Director of Grameen Bank past the mandatory retirement age of 60. He has just lost his appeal in the country's Supreme Court, but international interest in this case continues.
Quote:
There has been huge criticism by the United States and other countries of the sacking of a man who is internationally renowned. Yunus showed the way for giving small loans to poor people to help lift them out of poverty and laid the foundation of a banking model followed in scores of countries. He won a Nobel Prize in 2006 for his efforts.

During a visit to Dhaka last month, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert Blake pushed for a dialogue between the government and Yunus to find what he called a "mutually acceptable solution."

A top official of the Awami League Party, Abdul Jalil, is hopeful of a compromise. "They are discussing the matters. I think the solution will be there. It will be solved. There will be an understanding honoring both the sides," he said.
