In the PM mailbox, I hate having to check Every. Single. Box. simply to delete and clean out the Inbox and Sent Messages. Is there a way to set up a "delete all" feature?

If ya weren't so popular, BB, you'd only need to clean out three or four messages a year. That's all I do.

You can delete a whole page at a time by first scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking "Mark all"; then there's a dropdown box that says "Mark/Unmark as important". Click on it and choose "Delete marked".

Sometimes I spend 10 or 15 minutes trying to clear them out, but it's boring. I have 120 pages in my Inbox right now. #-o ?(

There's a setting that can control that.

And also, too, you can create additional mailboxes and move the important PMs into them, and they won't be deleted.

Here's a sneaky peek at the Admin Control Panel on PMs:

Image

I could set it to, oh, say 200 PMs, and then set it to "delete oldest". That would cut down on your PMs, but if there were any you wanted to save you need to stay on top of it before another 200 come in.

"New messages held back" is dumb. That means if you have 200 PMs, you don't get any new ones until you delete some of them yourself.

Check it out and gimme some feedback.

=; [-( I throw a frown down on both those. Deleting at 200 and holding back at 200 until you delete some.

That's why I made everything unlimited, but 5,000 plus PMs?

I made a box for Saved Messages and only have 23 in there ... by 2020 I might get up to 200.

Do you have any idea how long I searched for the 'post reply' button the other night? I freshed and refreshed and thought the page was caught at the not-quite bottom. I was feeling a little foggy that night, we had just gotten back from NOLA, but really...

What the heck is that thang, anyway?

We need a “Blue Light Special Isle 5” thread that only Greenies can post on. I have so much shit going on right now, as most of us do from time to time that when I get a minute to check for breaking stuff, you have to go through 50 threads to find it if anything has broken. I know usually the thread at the top, but not always.

If Greenies could post under “Action Breaking on….” and then in the post just put what thread the action is on along with page number so those in the herd a on a mad real life rush go straight to it. Posting the page number of the breaking event would be helpful since the herd can post 50 pages of posts in 5 minutes when something good breaks and it takes almost as long to go back and find where the news broke it as it does to read forward and catch up.

Restricting it to Greenies would prohibit thread clogging and the thread would only surface if an alert to action were posted.

Waddayathink?

While I do appreciate what you are saying regarding something breaking and it taking a while to catch up with whatever it is, contrary to what must be popular belief, greenies too have lives and also sometimes "mad real lives". Once I sign on in the morning, I rarely sign off. And while it may appear I'm actually on the board participating 24/7 that's rarely if ever the case. I do put several hours a day in, generally, and sometimes way too much, and I just can't see adding to that. In fact, I'm needing to cut back, but I do try to fulfill my greenie responsibilities as best I can.

Having to post something essentially twice is, at least IMO, a little much. Other greenies may disagree, of course.

I think it would be really great if when  sees a post and says to himself "Gosh, I think kimba would be interested in that", he would send me a text or email directly. =))

This greenie completely agrees. It's shocking, I know, but greenies have mad real lives too.

We are here to keep the board running and to enforce the few rules the Rooster has laid down. We are not publishers or editors. One of the reasons that I am so tough on thread jackers is so that everyone can get through posts on the actual topic without spending an hour a day in every thread.

You don't have time, we don't have time.

Sorry, no "like" button. Considered it; decided against it.

No ranking by number of posts, either.

Gonna restart the server. Gimme 10 minutes.

During my ongoing initiation into the Android Community, this site was suggested: Tapatalk

It appears to give tablet users access to BBCodes on message boards that use it. Does Tapatalk benefit the Fogbow?

Foggy is going to hate this but how about easy share buttons to share posts from fogbow to other sites? I'll dig through phpbb archives and look for stuff on other suggestions.

How about announcements for everytime we have a RC Radio show on air?

Excellent idea. I will look into it, probably implement it this morning.

There IS a mod for adding share buttons, but it will only put them in the first post of each topic. For a thread like Orly's Latest Poopies, with 26,511 posts  it might be hard to remember that there are share buttons on p.1, post 1. But I'll install it and we'll see how it goes.
