To me that suggests a problem with Flash. When Flash isn't working in Firefox, it often still works in other browsers (but I don't have Waterfox).

Might try uninstalling Flash and reinstalling the latest version of it. But IIRC, you know as much or more about computers as I do.

Edit: I freakin' edited your post when I thought I was quoting it. #-o More coffee. Need more coffee. I did that only one other time since I became admin on PJ, more'n three years ago. Apologies.

No sweat GI....
I've found that everything works in Safari, Opera, IE, - only Firefox/Waterfox is affected...I haven't changed or installed anything at all in the last week or so. I'll redo the flash...

My "first unread post" functionality is haphazard this week. It always goes to the first unread PAGE of the topic, but often to the top of that page, and all the posts are marked read when I get there.

But sometimes it works perfectly.

I don't know if there's any rhyme or reason to this. Anyone else having issues? Should I poke around and see if it's certain subforums?

Yes sometimes that happens to me and I'm not sure why or even whether it's desktop/laptop/droid when it happens. I think more than none.

The management is pleased to report that haphazard problems are beyond the scope of our expertise. It's like trying to fix an intermittent short circuit.

Now, I do provide remote desktop support, for a reasonable fee. You could pay me to log in to your computer, and then I take over your mouse and keyboard and I can watch your screen instead of mine, and I'll sit there for hours -- on the time clock -- and wait until the hazard haps.

;;)

Never fear. I'm a pro at apophenia.

I'll report a pattern sooner or later!

Getcher own gay midget porn, Rooster.

For your information. For the past three days I've had a hell of a time trying to get TFB to load using Firefox 15. If I'm lucky, ten or fifteen minutes later I may have a page fully load, other times never. Since it's not a problem with other sites, I thought I'd let you know. I tried using a couple of different Linux systems, but it's the same. Just sayin'.

I was on 15, now on 15.0.1, and have not seen that issue.

Thanks, Verbie. Updating to 15.0.1 seems to have fixed it. :D

Oh, well, that didn't last long. Back to 15-minute loading time at TFB and nowhere else :(

Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana. They also liked the rotting musk melon I tossed into the compost container today. It was a problem, but now it isn't.

Then there's the threadjack problem...

Got this message: Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.

Is it me or us?

Try again. I set the max. attachment quota to 'unlimited'.

Having done that, I much prefer that instead of doing attachments, you hotlink images from a Photobucket or other online source. Attachments add to the load on my server and increase the total size of my file structure. Hotlinking just adds a tiny bit of text without adding any load to my files.

Great minds, blah, blah, blah. I just a few minutes ago signed up for Photobucket. :)

Make sure you set all your albums to Private before you put any photos of yourself, or friends, or fambly up there.

Go Daddy is off the net as of an hour ago. Anonymous claims credit.
If you are trying to contact Go Daddy for Domain stuff or e-mail hosted there, good luck...until they find a work around.

Forbes Tech 5 Reasons You Should Leave GoDaddy (And How) by Kelly Clay.
Quote:
Though GoDaddy came under pressure when it originally supported SOPA and December 29, 2011 was declared a day for ditch GoDaddy as a result, millions still pay every month for its services. While today’s unacceptable downtime won’t be the last straw for some, it will likely be for many of GoDaddy’s customers – and luckily, there are other several much better alternatives that make it easy for any current GoDaddy customer to leave – now.

I was surprised to see Forbes publish such a negative editorial so quickly.
