Perhaps appropriately, hidden text is now invisible (white text on white background) in Artodia Black. I make it appear with my majik mouse!

I fixed it.

By uninstalling the mini-chat. Worked like a charm. Nobody's using mini-chat anyway; maybe 4 or 5 messages a day.

There's another chat I bought for $10 but I had a little trouble getting it up and running. Lemme work on that instead, 'cause that AJAX chat is reliable for just one thing: crashing my server.

I didn't grow up in the Soviet Onion. I don't know tyranny when I see it.

Kinda sorta fixed again. Don't try to edit your chat posts.

Anyone else having trouble accessing Fogbow from a mobile phone?

As of this afternoon when I click on my saved Favorite directly to the forums, I am getting a 403 forbidden error message, that I don't have permission to view the page.

If I try to go to the Fogbow.com home page, the link changes to "www.thefogbow.com/crawlprotect/noaccess/index.php?" and the screen is bright red with a white box that says "This site is protected by CrawlProtect!!! Your access attempt has been blocked." And to contact the webmaster if I think I should be able to access the page.

On my home PC everything is normal. I thought I might have contacted some sort of mobile browser virus, but (so far) this is the only website I'm getting that CrawlProtect message. I Googled "Crawl Protect" and it seems to be something webmasters install to prevent hacking.

I did try clearing the mobile browser cache and deleting cookies & history and all that good stuff. And no, I have never visited Orly's House O' Malware on my cell phone.

Already sent a PM to Foggy but figured I'd post here as well.

Everything looks normal on my iPhone running Safari.

I'm fine on my iPhone. It sounds to me like your browsing attempt is being re-routed. Who is your carrier?

I probably should have mentioned I'm on a Samsung Focus S Windows phone with IE as the browser. I really wish I could get Firefox or some other browser for my cell, I feel nekkid on IE without being able to selectively block flash and ads.

That's what I thought too, but I assumed if there was a browser hijacking that it would affect more than one website.

I'm on AT&T, I was sortof hoping this was on the Fogbow end so I could avoid having to call AT&T's tech support.

If you are using your cell carrier for access, then it is quite possibly your cell carrier that is re-routing or interrupting your session. If so, the browser isn't at fault.

Last August, I got a call from a member of my website, who was not able to reach the game content that he was paying for. Everything was fine coming to our main site, but as soon as he tried to go to the games, whether by clicking the games link, from his bookmark, or by entering it directly, he was routed off to a Bing search for games, rather than going to ours.

He was a Frontier Communications customer and, coincidentally, this story came out in Ars Technica the very next day: Small ISPs use "malicious" DNS servers to watch Web searches, earn cash. It turned out that was exactly what was happening -- his searches were being "monetized" (hijacked so they could rip off some advertisers) by Frontier and a bug in the program was revealing what was going on.

What was interesting was that someone had complained to Frontier CEO Maggie Wilderotter back in April about their Google searches being proxied, and she claimed it was "done by one of our vendors and we have now stopped it." However, in August, they were still proxying Bing and Yahoo -- it was only Google where they stopped.

After a very pointed call to Frontier, my member's problem went away. But you may have the same thing, which was why I asked about your carrier. If you're using WiFi, try using DNS 8.8.8.8 (Google) and see if that makes a difference.

On Windows 7 Pro running Firefox 13.0.1, this morning I got a warning about a redirect when clicking on links to threads. The message is discussed here: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/The%20page%20is%20not%20redirecting%20properly.
Quote:
"The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

I logged out, shut down Firefox, reopened everything, and all is working fine now.

LOL, I'm on with them now but I had to spell "Crawl" and "Protect" 3-4 times.

So that's Call Protest?

No, C-R-A-W-L P-R-O-T-E-C-T.

Surprise, AT&T was actually very helpful - the Customer Service rep even called me back when the battery on my cordless landline went dead 20 minutes into the call. Luckily, I keep an old corded Princess phone around for power outages and stuff, I've been schlepping it from apt to apt since college, best money I ever spent.

Anyway, after a bunch of troubleshooting with my cell, AT&T seems to think the problem is with Fogbow and not their network, since this is the only site getting hijacked on my phone. I guess I should wait to see what Foggy says.

It's best to have a primary and a secondary. Those are 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for Google.

Also write down the ones already in there, just in case you have to revert. (If they're now nonexistent, that won't be of much use.)

Well, I have confirmed that the red page you saw is on this site.

But why it's doing that, I have no idea.

Time for Foggy ....

I saw the same thing yesterday, but I don't recall if I was on my desk or lap or cell at the time. I think desk. Hope it don't come back. I've installed that fastestfox now and getting used to it.

You might try logging out if you can get to a page you can do that. Also can you go to the forum directly? http://www.thefogbow.com/forum. Crawl Protect seems to be something that protects websites against malicious bots.

I hate to say "oh, good" - but I feel so much better knowing it's not just my cell phone that's messed up.
