I would actually like to go to this one. The Pacific Northwest is a beautiful place -- when it is not raining.

It's not raining today. Portland sounds good, though.

Shhhhhhh!!! It's raining. It always rains here. The sun never shines. Pass it on.

Portland in early Sept?? I will take a look and see what is up in Portland around that time. Maybe there will be something super spectacular!

Spread the word!

I have to twist BB's arm. Her brother lives in Eugene. How could she not come for a visit!?

My sister owns a charming, funky motel (in keeping with the previous meetups) in Grants Pass, which is about as far away srom Portland as you can get and still be in Oregon (pikers-that distance only gets you a third of the way up our state.). Wanna move it to Grants Pass? Just kidding. Sorta.

I'd be interested. Not likely, but interested.

I may be able to do September as long as you steer clear of the Labor Day weekend or the third weekend after. You could even pick Labor Day weekend if you do it near Fort Stevens. Tis a long drive for those in the middle valley, though.

Grants Pass is quite a ride. So's Seattle. I'd be happier staying within Eugene-Vancouver areas.

Ok all, it is time to get serious about planning this gathering if we actually intend to meet.

We need to pick a time and place. To do so, it would be helpful to know who is interested in attending.

I am thinking that Portland is good, but the coast could be fun as well. I am thinking that the weekend of Sept 13/14 is a good time, but we definitely need to poll about this.

So, gimme some info and I will get a poll started so that we can select a weekend and a location.

Is anyone willing to be the one to coordinate with HQ once we have the time/place info? I know that we will need a security sweep of the area as well as plain-clothed security officers on location for the gathering. HQ recently updated their security protocol, so we need to stay in contact with HQ on this one.

I've kept in touch with Erin, and FogBowers are welcome at the Escahton gathering. Aug 14th, Tigard

Is there a weekend in Sept that would work for folks? If it turns out that just a few are interested in getting together, we could make this a one day thing.

Good for you for being active in your union, Plutodog!

Keep me posted. I'm on call one out of every three weekends but if you stay within 45 minutes of Salem that won't matter. Labor Day weekend will not work for me. Nor will the weekend of Sept. 24. I really don't care to meet in Portland. Maybe Corsi will show up. He seems the nosy type.

Info that would be helpful for me:

1. Weekends that work for folks in Sept.

2. Meeting places that work for folks. Depending on who is interested in attending, we may not need to go further north than Salem. If I can convince PatGund to come, we should meet in Portland so that he doesn't have to drive another hour South.

Zeke, which weekend in Sept are you not on call?

I'm on call the weekend of the 17th. I'll be out of the area with my hobby on the other two mentioned weekends. This narrows it down to one weekend, so you might want to just not worry about my on call. Portland is less than an hour if you stay away from the airport area. Providing I-5 doesn't clog up, of course.

17, 18 Sep seems to be OK for me... Portland is 2 hours - Pat could pick me up on the way.
