Use your Fogbow username and password to log into the chat room from now on.

If you have a different password on PJ, use your Fogbow password.

I do believe, Ned, that I have disabled guest access to the chat room.

Improvements to the chat today:

1. Disabled guest users. No more six-digit numbers, no more lurkers. Members only.
   
   
2. Custom chat welcome message.
   
   
3. ChatBot responds to the word "beer".
   
   
4. Try typing the word "Foggy".
   
   ... and the big one (drum roll, por favor) ...
   
   
5. Changed all the smilies to match the forum smilies.

EXCEPT ... I am receiving reports that the chat had some problems after all of yesterday's, ahem, we will call them "improvements". So I'm going to walk back all of them except the changed emoticons/smilies. I always did think the chat room smilies were dumb. And I'm keeping guests disabled.

So here's the plan: I dumped the welcome message, the word substitution ("poor ol' rooster" for "Foggy") and the "ChatBot responds to beer" thingy. I'll wait a couple days and see how the chat is doing with just the "guests disabled" and the new smilies.

Keep me posted on how it works.

I had one issue where chat had a bunch of "500" errors for a minute or two last evening. I tried the Forum and it was down also. That was the only time I have had any problem like that with either.
