Re: At The Movies, comments and reviews

Saw the new BladeRunner film today. I'm a big fan of the original. Although the trailer didn't impress me much, I'm happy to say the sequel is magnificent as well. I hadn't been to a movie theater in perhaps three years. But like the original, this one is gorgeous to look at and so it's worth seein...

Me: "When the HVAC guy gets here to check out the heater, DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER suggest to the guy what YOU think it might cost. You NEVER do that, because then he thinks that's the limit of how much you're willing to pay, OK? DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER SUGGEST WHAT YOU THINK IT MIGHT COST, OK?...

I really should merge this thread with the one on Karl Koenigs. Where is the absolute God-given right to travel without a driver's license or passport?

There are two people who can change the title of a thread: Me, and the person who started the thread. If the person who started the thread has subsequently left the forum, I will consider intervening. But if that person is still an active member, I think it's disrespectful to change the title of th...

Freakin' Mississippi. On Election Day last year, ol' Wifehorn had surgery. When she woke up the next morning, groggy from the drugs, and found out who won, she texted me "What happened". As you know, Hillary Clinton stole my wife's text as the title of her most recent book. I think we need a...

I refused one post that was 100% in the wrong thread. Here we place a value on people who admit when they make a mi...

Met a nice couple from the UK yesterday at the State Fair, we discussed Trump of course (I'm working in the NC Democratic Party booth today, tomorrow and Thursday too). The lady said "We have our troubles too, like Brexit." I said, "We'll trade you for Teresa May."

Fill up the bathtub. You can use that water to flush the toilet and to drink as a last resort.
Pro Tip:

The tub will hold more water if there are no large mammals in it. Have y'all ever met Suranis?

That’s not the cowboy way but ... Oh, bite me. If y'all knew jack shit about the Cowboy Way, you would have known the ambush was coming on the road to John Day on that fateful night, like a certain poor ol' rooster who everybody loves to kick around whenever they're bored or havin' a bad day. Ambus...

Re: Ophelia, the next major hurricane?

Yeah, and if Trump thinks Puerto Ricans are Sea Mexicans, he probably thinks people in the Azores are Sea Portugeezers.

This Ophelia is more mavericky than Sarah Palin. Rogue-y, too also. Hurricanes are NOT supposed to go to Ireland. This is just WRONG.
