Re: Finicum Lawsuit

I suggest the widow and her enablers want to keep the "case" alive to keep the grift going, and hoping that someone will offer a minimal settlement, so they can crow about winning. Philpot represents them from some sense of duty to the family but undoubtedly has told them that they have virtually n...

LOL. Responding to Judge Wood's request on the Government's positions concerning Stormy Daniel's motion to intervene, and Avenatti's pro hac vice application, the Government (but not Avenatti) has responded: The Government respectfully submits this letter in response to the Court’s order, dated May ...

Re: Michael Cohen

Nutter and disbarred California lawyer Gregory R. Kaighn has tried to make an appearance in the Cohen case. (He is also a vexatious litigant, asserting claims about a Roosevelt Dictatorship that Queen Elizabeth, II is in on.) His attempt to get involved in the Cohen case was rebuffed. His request an...

I lived in Kentucky for awhile. When I watch the Derby, I shudder every time an announcer says "Louie Ville." Who the heck is that?

Translation for the real people: Philpot is smart enough to realize there may not (and likely is not) a pot of gold at the end of this case so he's unwilling to take it on a contingency and/or doesn't have the wherewithall to do so and rather than find someone who does and is willing to associate, ...

Like porn, after a while it all looks the same. Now watching some cow or refrigerator-size boulders getting ejected might be interesting. Or watching Hawai'i get larger as the lava adds onto the beaches it overflows would be something new. But I can't distinguish one eruption from another at this po...

Re: Michael Cohen

Judge Wood asks the right questions. What's the status of Stormy Daniels' motion to intervene? What's the position of the United States as to intervention and Avenatti's pro hac application? What is Cohen's position on intervention?

Re: Mueller's investigation of Trump

I don't get the air of jubilation here. The last several days have made it clear that Trump is prepared to obliterate the ability of the FBI and Justice Department as a whole to protect sources, defend the national security, and prosecute cases if that's what it takes to save his own ass. And his b...

Re: Mueller's investigation of Trump

Mueller has been on the job for a year, but this investigation is actually almost two years old. It began as a counterintelligence effort in June 2016 when the FBI learned that Russians were seeking to infiltrate the Trump campaign. Mueller has assembled an extraordinary team of prosecutors and inve...

Re: Michael Cohen

The so-called preemptive pro hac challenge was really Cohen's opportunity to whine about how Avenatti was poisoning the well and using Cohen as a punching bag. At this point the special master is working through the documents and the parties -- the United States and Michael Cohen and Donald Trump as...

Re: Michael Cohen

The fact he spoke with the prosecutors leads me to believe they wanted him to stop interfering with their cases. It was likely on a meet and confer prior to filing. That's why Cohen's letter didn't just sail out of the blue pre-emptively, but was likely triggered by a meet and confer. I don't under...

Re: Mueller's investigation of Trump

I'm hopeful the next round of indictments includes Julian Assange. It looks as if Roger Stone conspired with him, so if Stone is getting an indictment Assange is well positioned to receive one, too.

Agreed that’s what he should have done but then one channel of publicity would be cut off. The fact he spoke with the prosecutors leads me to believe they wanted him to stop interfering with their cases.

Re: Mueller's investigation of Trump

Roger Stone is going to be indicted. Of that, I have no doubt. The only questions are 1) when, and 2) whether he'll make a deal before the bill is unsealed. I have no idea as to the timing, but I feel pretty good guessing that Stone will never cooperate. He's an unbelievably pompous and arrogant pe...

The hopped into a classic XKE Jag and drove off. Only thing was, it was a left hand drive. I suspect all the English Jag XKEs are rusted out. The one they were in was probably a California car.
