This is the outcome when sound-bite politics takes over from actually addressing problems. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-g ... t-38786119

Re: Crohn's and Colitis & GastroIntestinal Joys of Life - Our Very Own Thread

Good luck with the colonoscopy, sad-café. I've been relatively well - I got put on methotrexate for a while but didn't get on with it at all, so I'm back on azathioprine (Imuran) but at a lower dose than before to try to keep the liver damage to the minimum. My ALT went over 1,000 but it's back down...

Re: WERE BANK: Common-Law Bank for Uncommon Scofflaws

My ex-husband, always a gullible idiot for a get-rich-quick scam, has fallen for this idea. I have tried very hard to explain that it doesn't work and he'll just get himself deeper into the mire of debt he's in, but he's not listening. He is waiting for his cheque book and then he's going to bugger...

Well done, Ireland! One of my friends flew home to Ireland from Italy to vote yes, and several friends in the UK made it across too.

I see Grossly Inappropriate Larry Klayman (hereinafter GILK) still subscribes to the notion that the more printouts from the internet that you put into a filing, the more truthy it must be.

How's that working for ya, GILK?

You could get out of FEMA camp if you stopped splurging nothing but copypasta all over the board (especially when what you copy & paste is lies, like that Robin v Hardaway fake quote) and started discussing things in your own words. Aren't you ever ashamed of the many fake quotes you've posted here?

Thanks, Rosy. I missed the stuff about QE II. What was that about?

We're going to make her into a cyborg for the next 40 years or so, to stop Prince Charles getting to the throne. Unless she already is a Reptilian, in which case we're already buggered.

There probably will be another referendum on Scottish independence, but not in the next couple of years. Possibly not even in the life of this parliament - what Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP have said is that their long term focus is on independence but during this parliament they intend to concentrat...

And a Jersey outside New Jersey.... ;) That was one weird night. As the weeks went on leading up to Thursday, the polls barely moved with Conservatives and Labour neck and neck at about 33-35% each, barely varying by a point. The LibDems were collapsing and UKIP surging, plus the almost clean sweep ...

Since Brenda has to approve the name*, I doubt that Diana will be the first of the new princess's names! They might get away with Diana as one of her middle names, I guess. My eldest son is called Charles and one of my nieces is a Charlotte, so I like the idea of Charlotte. I would guess at some com...

Britain is having an election, not just England! The Scottish Nationalists may take every Scottish seat - we live in interesting times - but I have a bit of election ennui, so many polls/predictions/arguments. Since I moved house recently, I now live in a relatively safe Labour seat (though in a Tor...

We have a general (national) election here in 12 days time, and over 1000 people were killed in an earthquake this morning. Yet over five minutes of the news bulletin on the BBC at lunchtime was devoted to the non-story of an ex-Olympian, reality TV person being transgender and giving an interview. ...

Terror attack at French satirical magazine office - Charlie Hebdo

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hildago, has released a statement condemning the attack and calling on defenders of freedom to march "contemplatively, in solidarity and quietly" tomorrow in Paris at 6pm. J'éprouve un sentiment d’horreur absolue face à l’attentat qui vient d’être perpétré contre Charlie Heb...

Terror attack at French satirical magazine office - Charlie Hebdo

Just dreadful, and my heart goes out to the families and friends of the dead and injured. Everyone I know in Paris is accounted for, but that is not much comfort. The previous firebombing at Charlie Hebdo was at night and was aimed at property; this was a deliberate change of tactics to kill as many...

petrol=gasoline. :D Petrol here is mostly taxation - 61% of the price we pay in the UK is excise duty and VAT - but it's come down from £1.30 or so last year to £1.09/litre today. If Brent Crude goes to $45 a barrel, it's expected that petrol will be back down under a pound per litre. The price war ...

How can the Pope be said to "run England" when Catholics aren't permitted to be on the throne? Delusional nonsense, GT. Reading that appeal, it seems to me that Judy's grasp of English (always tenuous) is worse than usual. Even reading it aloud to try to tease meaning out of his run-on sentences doesn't help.
