Re: Gun Control Legislation

A lack of political will among America’s lawmakers is the main culprit I really think people are grabbing the wrong end of the stick when they frame it as a lack of political will. I think there is a desire to see politicians as weak or easily controlled, but really they are shrewdly calculating. T...

Congress critters should be shown the crime photos of the dead students and be required to go to the morgue to see them. Never mind. I just thought of Tom Cotton.

I just saw Black Panther for free at an AARP Movies for Grownups event. It was fabulous! I put it up there with The Fifth Element as a to be seen many times film.

Barack is a known quantity, with considerable experience in the Illinois legislature, Congress, and the White House. I am not disparaging Michelle's skills but we really haven't any track record for her. Right now I'm for anything that gives Barack a third term. I appreciate the gesture, too. But, ...

Not one of his greatest and a bit of a mess at the end. But still very entertaining. He should have gotten the Daily Show when Jon Stewart retired.
I enjoy having John Oliver for a full show which wouldn't happen on The Daily Show. I also enjoy Trevor Noah. I see it as a win-win.

Re: March For Our Lives Mar 24, 2018 #GunControl https://www.marchforourlives.com/

The memorial garden must have come in the past ten years. It took a lot of pressure on the University to get anything at all. I saw it in person maybe seven years ago, walking the campus with a first cousin. It is pathetic. Such a place needs beauty, not frogs. Had the University been more humane, ...

Going back to last week's Valentine's Day massacre in Florida, I read that Cruz had used a AR-15 type rifle, legally purchased. I don't know the exact make & model, or the purchase price, but I checked last month's issue of the NRA's American Rifleman (it's on the internet) and found an ad that off...

(CNN) The ex-wives of Rob Porter, a White House aide who recently resigned over domestic abuse allegations, say they have received letters of apology from Porter's old boss, Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, who previously defended his former staffer as a "decent man." "It was a sincere apology ...

Re: U.S. v. Manafort, Gates: 17-cr-201: USDC for DC; Re Money-Laundering, Conspiracy & FARA

At this point I think the only thing that will flip Manafort is his indictment by state authorities in New York (or California), and a no bail order. First, he won't be able to get a pardon. And, second, he won't be able to flee. And if I just thought of it, you can bet your bottom ruble that Muell...
