Dr. Kate's Usurpathon

dr.hate.jpgThis was the biggest failure of all the attempts to organize a mass gathering of birthers. On July 3, 2010, Dr. Kate Vandemoer, who publishes the blog drkatesview, announced a new protest to be known as the "The Usurpathon: A Rolling 'Velvet Revolution' to Remove the Usurper, et al.". Billed as a gathering of "many people from each of the 50 states," Dr. Kate asked her followers to join in the planning for the event, to be held Sept. 6 - 9.

By July 27, in DrKate's Platoon Takes the Hill, she said she was planning protests at the U.S. Capitol, at the White House, and at the Supreme Court. Apparently, she didn't know that neither Congress nor the Supreme Court were in session on those dates.

She was asking for "as many patriots as possible to join us in person". By August 1, the protest had an official name: The Constitutional Accountability Project. Dr. Kate said that "Americans across the country are uniting" and she begged her readers, "Patriots, please spread the word!" On Aug. 5, she announced that convicted felon James David Manning, the "pastor" and fake Ph.D. who organized the Fake Trial of the Century in Harlem the previous June, would be attending and joining the opening ceremonies. On Aug. 9, she posted No More Talking, and begged, "This blog asks all other blogs  to organize your readers, help us gather 10,000 patriots across the country who will rotate into the Capitol for a rolling revolution ... until the illegal occupation is stopped." And on Aug. 25, in The Siege Begins, she posted:

"Out from the depths, out of every seam on the sidewalk, from every neglected corner, from the ether we come–filled with the mission of thousands, and the intention of millions to begin the usurpathon–the  siege and removal of the Obama administration."

Are you getting the feeling that she wanted many thousands of protesters to gather on Sept. 6? The seditionist "news" blog, the Post & Email, also did its part to publicize the event, by posting an interview with Dr. Kate on Sept. 1. In that interview, Dr. Kate announced that "I obtained permits from the five jurisdictional agencies that we have to deal with, and that has taken quite a bit of time." However, when the day finally came for the Usurpathon to begin ...

Two people showed up and joined Dr. Kate. Actually, there were six people there for the Opening Ceremonies and Candlelight Vigil: Dr. Kate and her two followers, two officers of the U.S. Park Service, and a member of Fogbow with a camera.

So Dr. Kate told her followers that "Any more than three people and a permit should be requested." And she told convicted felon James Manning that "the intent was never really a crowd".

So don't bring your family of five to our nation's capital.
